I'm sticking with Stitch which is like a mix of Moana, E.T. and the Mandalorian.

I feel like every movie in the poll could do 300m or sub 200 and it wouldn’t shock me. Tons of upside potential but few huge obvious breakouts.

I feel like HTTYD is going to do well because the anti Disney people will be out in force to support it.

If F1 does 300m I would be shocked, even half of that would be crazy.

F1 has the Pitt/Kosinski and originality factor. US Domestic will be stronger than people expect because F1 popularity is at an all-time high stateside (even if it is still niche). Now does that translate to $150m or $300m - hard to tell.

Overseas however it will be mega huger. Wouldn't be surprised with $600m+ OS as F1 is huge in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Australia and South America.

I picked Lilo and Stitch which should comfortable hit $400m.

So they're gonna support another company doing the exact thing they hate about Disney?

You know what, that actually does track with how people think nowadays lol.

My choice is still Superman. It's the exact sort of new take on an IP that people want. Nothing else really fits that mold.

It's not going to win but Final Destination is a dark horse for a big overperformance potential.

What uninspiring, regurgitated dreck. Just endlessly milking nostalgia. Nothing new, nothing original. Same old crap. It's giving culture in decline, last stage of an empire before collapse.

Unfortunately, that's what the film industry has become. I blame both the studios, streamers and audiences (who reject the rare few originals that are released) for this problem.

I think some of the summer films I'm more looking forward to are originals:

F1
The Surfer
Caught Stealing
The Life of Chuck
The Phoenician Scheme
Materialists
Weapons

As an F1 fan I'm still dubious of the F1 film but will still check it out.

It seems like things are heading that way. I also want to see how I Know What You Did Last Summer looks in its trailer. If the other horrors are failing lately why not see if hot young people running away from a killer starts sticking again.

And we got Scream 7 AND Scary Movie 6 (with the Wayans team back) in 2026 so feel it's only going to get bigger next year.

I feel like The Craft getting a sequel would be a good idea. I also think The Others with Nicole would be interesting. It was her leggiest film when it came out and she mentioned she might want to explore it again. Just would need a big supporting cast with younger appeal too.

First tracking coming in for Lilo and Mission Impossible, well ahead of Thunderbolts on DHD.

Lilo right now is $100M+.

Mission Impossible is ahead of Fallout's $61M+ (didn't see an exact number but sounds like it's over $75M+).

Thunderbolts is at about Shang Chi level ($75M+).

If it's already that high, add in the May long weekend, first kids film in 2 months and 23 years since the original film and seems like a $150M+ OW is looking strong.

The Lilo and Cruise rematch looks like a great weekend.

Shang Chi comps does not work now. That was in pandemic period and had a labor day weekend release. I would rather compare this to Cap 4. its below that movie and I am expecting double digit previews with stronger finish than Cap 4. That puts OW at 65-75m range. Let us see where things are closer to release. But I would not put 75m+ at this point.

Thunderbolts might as well be titled "GENERIC MARVEL MOVIE #70". I don't have high expectations there at all.
