 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
King of kings has already "presold" 436K tickets. I am thinking it should come close to 20m if not exceed it. https://www.angel.com/pay-it-forward/king-of-kingsAmateur has early shows tomorrow which looks promising. If reviews are strong and reception is good it could hit mid to high teens. Rest I have no idea.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
Angel Studios box office is mostly rich people buying other people’s tickets, but there are actually people in the seats. It’s not like they’re fraudulent to the point they’re buying up empty theaters.

King of Kings or Chosen with Easter looming.

Kings has already sold 516K tickets and will probably finish with 1m with Pay it Forward stuff from Angel Studios. Amateur early shows looked like 600-700K yesterday. I dont know the WOM but its weird that reviews are not out despite it having had like 1000 shows. That does not portend well for the movie.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
The Amateur to me feels like a $5-$10m opener at best. Yet it seems to be getting a big push (i.e. IMAX) and being talked up.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
King of Kings definitely getting the full Angel Studios treatment. Wouldn't be too surprised if it opens to around $20M now and is equal to that next weekend for Easter. Religious propaganda for children might be even more lucrative than propaganda for adults! So long as someone else is paying for the tickets of course lol. Looking like a good late round pick in the draft.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
Presales for King of Kings are pretty nuts. Will likely be the highest opening for a faith-based animated film. They always flop. Prince of Egypt is the highest with 14.5 Million. While it might not pass that adjusted, it should certainly pass 14.5 Million.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
Looks like this weekend will produce some decent movies in Drop with 91% RT and The Amateur 67%. I don't think Rami as lead and 2025 Fishburne as the Hackman in Enemy of the State is the golden ticket box office wise, though.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
Minecraft Tuesday $12,765,000 / $185,445,122
Mario had a holiday Monday so not the best comparison but was at $15,459,585 on Tuesday.
Even as a rough, rough approximation, if these dailies project to Minecraft's second weekend, it will do $76.25M this weekend (-53.1%). I'll give it $15M for Wed/Thur conservatively for a 10 day total of $276.70M.
Easter is in its 3rd week so let's give it a 35% drop with the inflated Friday and Sunday ($49.56M weekend) and 53% drop in weekdays ($17.7M) for an end of weekend 3 total of $343.96M.
Mario by comparison was at $436,030,550 by the end of weekend 3. Rough ballpark if Minecraft follows Mario for the rest of its run from weekend 3 on would finish with +32% more in its run, or $453.58M. A 2.78X multiplier.
Good holds push it to $500M but going with this approximation for now. Mario skewed to younger audiences but also faced GOTG3 which gave it a big drop. Two months until Lilo should perhaps even things out for Minecraft.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
If it follows Dog Man which has a pretty big -62% its first weekend but did well enough after, it would be about 440m.

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
Kings of kings have sold over 1.26m tickets based on the link above. Definitely opening above 25m at this point. Other movies wont do that much. More like half that number

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
I heard that Drop has a reduced theatre count. Is that correct?

 Re: April 11-13 Predictions
That sounds very promising for David over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. King of Kings has a $15M budget while David has a $61M budget. They are betting a lot on that one and King of Kings will raise the profile of it.
Bodes well for a TPOTC2 to do $80M+ OW when it comes out over a future Easter.
DHD has $14.6M in pre-sales now already. Looking like a massive OW and likely huge Sunday.
