This was disappointing and pretty lame, especially after Heart Eyes earlier this year was quite fun as a horror/comedy hybrid. It wore out its welcome by the end. C

Think this had some interesting and fun elements but idk the story didn't completely worked. Theo James looked delicious in the glasses though.

I thought this was a lot of fun throughout, I enjoyed the various performances (including Theo Jamesx2) and at no point did I tire of the antics. Good stuff.

The gore's a blast ("Is that a leg?") and works as a comedy, but it kind of drops the ball with the generational trauma thing.

This would've been fun to watch in a packed theater. It didn't really work with just myself and four other teenage boys who didn't make a sound the entire time.

This reminded me a lot of Cocaine Bear. The best part was the beginning when they were kids. It was still comedic but felt like there was better balance. Once Theio is an adult, the tone becomes so goofy that it’s hard to stay emotionally invested and enjoy anything other than the gore.

I saw this the week it released and was pretty disappointed. It takes itself way too seriously to be much fun. The story was most engaging during the childhood scenes, but the second half fell completely flat. Even though Theo James looked quite attractive in glasses (he's never done anything for me before), it didn’t save the film from being rather lackluster. After watching Longlegs and this, it’s clear that Osgood Perkins struggles to deliver a satisfying conclusion. At least Longlegs had a fantastic first half. Honestly, I regret not seeing Heart Eyes again instead, especially since my friend that I saw this with hadn’t seen it yet.

I thought this was bad and Heart Eyes was a much better movie across the board, and a better balance of humor and horror.

It's not as I expected it would be. It's a little odd. The film is mainly about the kills, but even they are short and/or not built up to well like in a Final Destination movie. The family dynamic and the characters in this film are from the outset just quite odd. It's not without its merits. I laughed a few times, especially at the line immediately after the woman explodes in the swimming pool. But overall it's not a great follow-up for Osgood Perkins.

I just did not buy that a man as handsome as Theo James would be a somewhat reclusive, shy, weird adult. Something did not work there in terms of casting.

I have only seen three films this year and they are all of the horror/thriller genre. Companion, Presence, and this, and this is probably the least enjoyable.
