Quote:
The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is a 2024 American animated science fiction comedy film produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Directed by Pete Browngardt in his directorial debut, it is the first fully-animated and theatrically released film in the Looney Tunes franchise based on entirely original material. The film is spun-off from the Looney Tunes Cartoons series developed by Browngardt and features the voices of Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, and Peter MacNicol. The film follows Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as they try to save Earth from an alien scheme while trying not to drive each other crazy.

WB didn't actually release it,they sold it to Ketchup entertainment. That's why it got no advertising lol.

This is a pretty fun throwback to the old Looney Tunes just as it promises to be. I laughed quite a bit and was into the story the whole way. The end of the world as we know it sequence in particular hits nicely and will be on my ballot for Best Needle Drop next year. If I had a complaint its that it throws it a bit too far back, with the original manic version of Daffy rather than the snarky asshole we've all come to love (wabbit season!) Porky is a dickhead to him at several points and you can't even really blame the pig. Dude is trying to get laid and Daf is such having public tantrums all over the place. I also would have liked to see Marvin as the villain over a random alien, but the new guy aint bad and his plan kinda makes sense once its all spelled out.

I'm down for more films like this. Free Coyote vs Acme!

7.5/10
