I think we would pick The substance if enough people watch it

I can see The Substance winning here. I think it will get a lot of nominations.

Main contenders will probably be Dune, Substance and Wicked but I could be wrong. Certainly didn't expect All of Us Strangers to come in second place last year.

Everyone should watch Flow and Strange Darling too. They aren't on any streamers but are well worth a purchase. It was a really great year for indie films and not just a24 for once.

I long for the day that Scariest Horror and Funniest Comedy are changed to Best Horror and Best Comedy. I mean, I've seen plenty of horror films in 2024 but none were scary, so I guess I can't nominate anything in that category. Not all horror films are even meant to be scary.

Dr. Lecter used to do it that way but then slightly comedic dramas would win ever year, which I think defeats the point of the category. This is a place where the Ricky Stanickys of the world stand a chance which would never happen if it was just titled Best Comedy which in itself sounds very serious lol. Plus I think it adds a bit more fun at the end of the ballot and every one can fill it out very easily without needing to decipher what is or is not a comedy. But, as always, I accept everything and will not be rejecting ballots because "not funny enough!!" You can vote The Brutalist for that category if you want.
