I loved this movie. It's easily better than the first and one of the best of the year. So entertaining!

It was a disappointment for me, but it was still entertaining. I prefer the original, but this sequel has a style that I love, and I thought the editing was great. The best scene was when Julia Roberts was playing herself, that was hysterical. What I liked so much about the original was we got to witness everything that went down in the heists. All we are shown here are flashbacks, and they are way too short to answer all of the questions ones mind might ask. It was a fun movie, but I expected a little more from it. I thought Catherine Zeta Jones was a great addition to the cast, and all of the cast was great, but something that was so present in the original, is absent here.

My main complaint with this movie (just like it was with Ocean's Eleven) is that it has an incredible cast, but never makes use of it which is just a shame. Now movies like The Family Stone, Sin City or Crash use their ensemble casts very well by letting them interact. In Ocean's Twelve the stars are in the movie...just for the sake of being on-screen. They are "just there". They play themselves, they play cool, they are relaxed and they don't care much about chemistry or the plotline. I admit that, they actually DO come across as "cool", but is that really the best they can come up with considering the immense number of stars. They should learn from Sin City!
Other than that, I found the movie to be on absolutely the same level as the first flick. It is a bit more humorous, but the heist is less interesting. The reveal at the end comes a bit surprising and is...um...stupid (?). I am not sure if I got it right, but what I got was quite brainless. The cameo apearance by Bruce Willis was great and having Julia Roberts playing...Julia Roberts was a great idea. Fun flick, no more, no less.

I think I have a new found appreciation for this film. It's really, really good seeing this again after soooooo long, I may like it more than Ocean's 13.
Maybe.

It excels in a lot of the same things that made the first one so fun - witty humour, great character interactions, sharp dialogue. But the story just falls short. Without the novelty of the Las Vegas theme, the European setting just feels boring. The attempt to add depth to Brad Pitt's character doesn't work, and there's really no climax at all to the film. It just coasts to a stop. Mostly it's the fault of the terrible, horrible twist. There's no hint of it at all before it is revealed. It's completely unfair to the audience. Still, I loved the Julia Roberts gag, and it made me laugh quite a bit. But it's not as charming as the first one.

I still don't get the ending. But that's okay. It's a fun movie.

 Re: Ocean's Twelve
This film is similar to watching a person completely wasted on a bad batch of Absinthe. It stumbles around makes zero sense then pucks on you and to add insult to injury crashes your car into a police station.

The Julia Roberts bit in the end is great but overall it was very disappointing. The actual heist (which is non-existent) was unconvincing. The actors still continue to be great specially liked Julia Roberts and Damon in this.

 Re: Ocean's Twelve
Pretty effective sequel, it just doesn't have the novelty of the first anymore and I feel it struggled a bit to make this as engaging and well paced. But the chance of scenery and new characters still make this very fun. There isn't one central and as well executed heist, but the mini heists with after the fact explanations work well and about the new characters, Zeta-Jones is just an excellent addition. Only because of that, I feel the film focuses too much on Pitt's Rusty and the balance of the characters' involvement is off. Damon has more to do in this again which is a good thing though and while Roberts turn as Roberts is appealing on the one hand it's a bit of stretch on the other hand. This film has the best soundtrack of the trilogy though and it's still a very good time throughout despite the drop-off from the first for me.
