Linkin Park Returns!
New singer is Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara. New song is alright, but she sounded pretty good on most of the old songs. Numb, One Step Closer and What I've Done all hit the feels hard.
Obviously no one can ever replace Chester, but I think they did as well as they could have. The guy from Sum 41 being rumored never felt right. And Chester himself sang for Stone Temple Pilos for a little while, so he obviously did not have a problem with this sort of thing. And if Chester would be ok with it, why shouldn't everyone?

I think they should've just given them a new name, Linkin Park with a girl is not Linkin Park.

I was initially hoping they'd go by Hybrid Theory. Would indicate they are starting from the beginning and every fan would know whats up.
But the reality is that the name is what matters. The name is going to sell out arenas and festivals. Without the name there really isn't any point in getting back together at all.

I know the pop punk bands are selling concerts, but the OG Linkin Park feels right as the classic rock inheritor. I loved the if it was made in 2007 meme.

Poor girl got a speenrun of being famous. Conservatives didn't even get a chance to be misogynistic before the liberals pounced on her for being a scientologist. Now Emily is being called a "rape apologist." Seems like she was born into the cult, and left Danny Masterson behind after he was found guilty ... but who cares about any of that when you can just bury the woman right away?

"Emptiness Machine" sounds exactly like a group coming back after a number of years to try and reclaim former glory. Unable or unwilling to innovate.

Re: Linkin Park Returns!
Listened to all 7 of their albums over the last few days. First time with One More Light since Chester killed himself ... and damn that one hits hard. Almost too hard. I was getting all emotional out in public and stuff. First three are still the best, Living Things is solid, Hunting Party is still weirdly underwhelming and Thousand Suns is just too much of a trend-chaser.
Rankings!:
1. Breaking The Habit 2. Faint 3. Somewhere I Belong - these top 3 can go in any order depending on the listen 4. Pushing Me Away 5. What I've Done 6. Numb 7. New Divide 8. One More Light 9. A Place For My Head 10. Papercut 11. One Step Closer 12. Don't Stay 13. Given Up 14. Lying From You 15. Leave Out All The Rest 16. Forgotten 17. Shadow of the Day 18. My December 19. Lost In The Echo 20. Figure 9 21. Easier To Run 22. In The End 23. In Pieces 24. From The Inside 25. With You 26. Burn It Down 27. The Catalyst 28. By Myself 29. Runaway 30. I'll Be Gone 31. Hit The Floor 32. Victimized 33. High Voltage 34. Qwerty 35. Bleed It Out 36. Castle of Glass 37. Nobody Can Save Me 38. Battle Symphony 39. No More Sorrow 40. Wastelands 41. Sorry For Now 42. Nobodys Listening 43. Crawling 44. The Messenger 45. Guilty All The Same 46. In My Remains 47. Hands Held High
I really like all of these songs too lol. Its so nice to have them back.

Living Things is excellent, imo. I heard it many years later, too. It's hard to top the impact of experiencing Hybrid Theory and Meteora upon release and at my impressionable age, but Living Things is, musically, a better album for me. It's impossible to rank them but I will say this; I would rather listen to Living Things right now than all their other albums.

Another decent song. I look forward to WWE using it.
