Some American actor that nobody's ever heard of was on the front page of the BBC yesterday. He died.

Loved him. God he was so great even just in bit parts like backdraft or JFK. A truly versatile icon, with probably the best voice outside of freeman. Could be sweet or evil in the blink of an eye.

Eh, people die. I have never got that people are sad when aged celebrities die. I would understand if Taylor Swift died. People are obsessed with her. But James Earl Jones? He's an old guy anyway, not done anything in the public space for 20+ years. You're not losing anything. You're not losing anyone. He was already out of the spotlight for decades, and for all intents and purposes, he was dead to you 20+ years ago. The moment a star isn't working - the moment you're not seeing them year in year out - they're essentially already dead to you.

Ironically if you go to the wikipedia page for lockup everyone except Stallone has died. Sizemore and Sutherland in the last two years, the leading lady, the director, Billy from Predator.

Damn, yeah. And Stallone is 78. While he doesn't appear to be anywhere near death, at that age it would not be a shock.

Liam Payne

Some are saying it was suicide, but this one isn't too surprising, clear as day for some time now that there were some mental problems and deep issues going on with him, sad

I can see why some of these boy band guys ended up troubled being rushed into success too soon, most of them probably have horror stories of music producers trying to sexually pressure them etc., and then the crash after the band breaks up and you're not the breakout.

Ouch?

I never get these reactions.

The dude was 78, and hadn't made a film in 20 years. Where's the ouch? You will be missing him/his work as much when dead as in the last 20 years when he was alive.

Unless he's your uncle or something, get a grip! ;)

Bob Ueker :-(. Was always hoping they could get him involved in some sort of Major League reboot.

On David Lynch - I'm not a fan, but at least he made one really good movie in Blue Velvet. Plus just being successful while also being so weird is a plus for the industry in general. Plus, Ridley Scott is gonna make movies till he is 100 so it can be done. I'll agree with Shack's ouch,
