Presales are great(all mega sequels from MCU do have great PS). It has been accelerating past few days as well. That said unlike smaller movies there is very little to surprise around these. Its skewed heavily for previews as well. 200m+ is improbable at this point.

I think the biggest surprise next weekend will be how well Twisters holds. Zeitgeist movie in the heartland and WOM, even with D&W wouldn't be shocked by under 45% drop.

Also, how huge will the box office be?

Twisters $35M, D&W $185M, DM4 $15M, IO2 $9M, Longlegs $5M, AQP $3M = $252M

An overperformance of Twisters + D&W, maybe we can get somewhat closer to Barbenheimer ($1B).

Twisters plays as a family film and won't be hurt that much. 45-50% would not be shocking.

Have 2 action blockbusters ever opened one right after the other, and the first one to come out did NOT drop 60% in its second weekend?

I'm sure there are many but here's a nice one over May long weekend.

Another 3 weekend one but feels like Twisters could do similar to here:

A 42% drop from a $75M OW would give Twisters $43.5M against D&W. Anything over $35M second weekend would be a great sign for the rest of the summer.

After seeing it today, I actually believe it can hold its own against Deadpool. I think it might drop less than 50%. If not, I can't see it dropping more than the low 50s.

Don't think it will hit $200M. Weirdly has a "just another movie" vibe to it right now. I'll go with $25M / $50M / $55M / $40M for $170M opening.

Twisters will drop well, but not too well due to the competition taking all the best screens. 49-51% . Shame, cause without Deadpool I think the movie could have done something ridiculous like -20% for a $60M+ weekend. Glen Powell: Maverick.

Twister will be fine. It will be a good counter to other hits like D&W, Trap etc. Twister's realistic target is the original film's gross.

D&W will open huge but have a HUGHE drop in its 2nd weekend.

These reviews are bad enough to hurt it for sure. High 60s second weekend drop and only a 2.2-2.4multiple.

Barbenheimer totalled $244.4m on that historic weekend. Will be interesting if Deadpool+Twisters could outdo that. If not maybe Deadpool+Twisters+DM4 lol

Even with Deadpool, I'm seeing a sub-50% drop for Twisters. I think it's going to have some great holds coming up.
