Algren wrote: Your projected $150m for Migration looks a looooooong way off now It's dailies were surpassing Puss for quite a while but Puss's Monday was nearly double Migration's so feels like a $120M total is still solid for it (10X multiple). Wonka is dropping much faster though than other family films so seems it may be skewing to fairly young demos and the matinee crowd. Let's see how they hold MLK weekend.

Re: Holiday 2023 Weekdays
Tuesday Jan. 9th #'s
1. ANYONE BUT YOU $1.28M / $46.24M -46.2% 2. WONKA $1.12M / $166.35M -75.7% 3. AQUAMAN 2 $960K / $101.74M -73.0%
-Color Purple $420K / $55.27M -71.3%
Great for ABY. Already at a 7.72X multiplier after just 19 days of release.
Aquaman still pulling in decent numbers. If it follows the original from this Tuesday on, would finish with $127.9M.

Re: Holiday 2023 Weekdays
It would have been cool if Anyone but You and Boys in the Boat became the top 2 on some weekday but I think Mean Girls would have to collapse

Re: Holiday 2023 Weekdays
Between Barbie and Anyone But You it seems audiences want a return to the rom coms and fantasy comedies anchored by romance of the 90s.
Time for a Pretty Woman remake?

Wed #'s
Anyone But You $1,035,000 -52% $47,272,066 Wonka $785,000 -75% $167,135,596 Aquaman 2 $680,000 -70% $102,414,167 The Color Purple $370,000 -59% $55,639,149
That's the first decent day I have seen for TCP. Maybe this weekend and Monday will be better for it given MLK weekend.

Time for a Pretty Woman remake? I'd been saying since Top Gun came out that Pretty Woman 2 with Julia and Gere would have potential to be the female version.

I think people are ready for new things. It is why Disney is doing so poorly right now

Mostly because Runaway Bride already achieved that effect as acting as a reunion sequel. The anticipation for a reunion has already been zapped. I'd say My Best Friend's Wedding or Notting Hill has more potential for a sequel. Same with Leo and Kate. They made a movie together since so that iconic pairing has less impact. But do think it would be higher than one with Roberts / Gere. Gere hasn't really stayed relevant. A clueless sequel I think though could be huge. Jerry Maguire, Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan pairing, Ryan Gosling/Rachel McAdam would be big. Or Molly Ringwald and the whole cast coming back on an 80s rom com with a modern spin that was high quality might surprise.

Pretty Woman 2 could work. Nobody remembers Runaway Bride or Revolutionary Road lol.

Re: Holiday 2023 Weekdays
I mean, does anyone under 50 still care about Richard Gere? Sorry to those Gere fans but I at least feel Tom Cruise stayed relevant for enough people to rush to see him go back to TGM.
