Post Lost Skeleton of Cadavra Movie Night! May 6-8 *5 Members*
 I want to pick a movie and due to tony and loyal's comments in another thread, I was leaning towards Lost Skeleton of Cadavra! \:D/

Image

But I know some people here have a tough time getting smaller movies, so I am going to throw out a couple more options and maybe if any one of them is more appealing we can do that one. This night is going to be for awhile, but I thought it would be fun to plan. Maybe in two weeks?

For horror fans, since it seems to be the most resceptive here, I was thinking about something that isn't technically horror, bu does have a bit of the sort of phantasm and death element. Gardenia had mentioned Orpheus, and a long time ago I saw the Brazilian classic Black Orpheus and thought it was good. Are you guys interested? But really, it doesn't have blood or guts, but it does have a woman being chased around, trying to me murdered, during their carnival festival.

I'm brainstorming some other ideas too, and am definately open to suggestions. I thought we could set this up a couple weeks from now, so that people can call around and find interesting foreign/indie film that are available in their area?

I'm leaning toward Cadavra now, because I think we should see something silly.

This is my problem with all the movie nights (except for Dawn of the Deaf)...I can never find these movies anywhere here. Our video stores rarely have rare stuff like that

I should eventually organize a Movie Night myself as well :D

I would really want to see Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, though.

Hey Lecter, that's a good idea. Next time you pick the movie that way we know it's one you oculd get your hands on there. And we'll all try to find it here. I'd do it anyways, just as long as you picked something that's already been released here I'm sure Kim's Video would have it.

Once I'm done with the exams, it's a go ;)

Seriously, though, local video stores are really poor when it comes to older or rare movies. I've been very impressed by what Hollywood Video and Blockbuster had to offer when I was on the other side of the pond.

I don't know what movie night is, exactly - every night is movie night for me - but, count me in!

Tony! Look at Dawn of the Dead movie night just a few notches down.

We basically set a date and make a point of all watching the same movie at the same time, and then coming here and talking about it when its fresh in our minds.

I'll change the title now.

What do all of you think is a good weekend?

Eh, I saw that film a while ago. It was good, but I'm not planning on re-watching it anytime soon.

Awwww, you didn't like it Rogue? I thought it was pretty damn funny. Can't tell yet if the guy loved or was just poking fun at old sci-fi movies. I'm leaning towards love, since it was a feature length film.

I can't wait. I've had the longest month and am in desperate need of seeing something funny now that finals are finally running down. I am probably going to get me some beers for this, which I never do, since I don't usually drink and watch movies because its hard to concentrate. But hey, there isn't all that much to ocncentrate on in Skeleton.

Do you know what this could mean for science? :p

loyal thanks for joining up too. Do you two have a weekend that is good for you?

Next friday works for me too! I hope some other people get a chance to check this out with us. So that we can sit back, and talk like aliens for the rest of the weekend.

Can't wait...haven't seen a laugh-out-loud funny movie in ages.

Hey tony, loyal, anyone else watching, can we push back the viewing weekend a bit? If you guys don't want to you don't have to, since I don't know how that netflix works, but am assuming that this may have already been preordered for the weekend. I don't know if I'll have internet access at home for a little while starting tomorrow night, but want to be present (and not at a school comp in the middle of the day) to chat about Skeleton?

Also, I know this is *unethical* to some people, but can dvd's be downloaded and mailed? I don't know if anyone here owns it, or could download it and mail it to Lecter, since he seemed excited about seeing it, but can't get it in germany. I actually wouldn't have expected a release this small to get international distribution, which is the only reason i would suggest downloading and mailing the movie. I consider it getting the world out? Um, publicity?

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Also, mods, please sticky this thread? Thanks.

What do you mean done on time? We pushed back the date because bABA might look at it too, and because I can't comment this weekend. I think if everyone gets it though they should go ahead and watch as soon as they can.

Glad you could join us. I should prepare you for this though...consider who has seen it and liked it.

Argh!

So it's the choice, either I dislike it and things go back to normal or I like it and the apocalypse arrives :-k

Ah, sorry, didn't notice that. By the way, I highly doubt the movie will ever get a release over here. Too small, too weird...

I have one third of it already, will take a day or two until I have the whole thing, but consider me in, yeah.

Okay, I have the entire movie now, so I'm officially in. Next weekend suits me well, incase it's possible.
