 Re: Wordle
I've been playing for about a month, I missed one day, and I lost once.

 Re: Wordle
Seemed like everyone was sharing them in January and into February, but I've barely seen any over the past week. In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone share them for a couple days now.

 Re: Wordle
I missed yesterday's. I'm assuming we can discuss "spoilers" if the word is no longer in play? I got "SHA-E" on my second guess. That's when I discovered there are at least six possible words that contain those four letters in a five letter word. Heartbreaking.
I also inadvertently got spoiled on one a week or so ago, so I felt like I was cheating anyway. I've been playing for about a month. It's fun because it doesn't take long to play and once it's done, it's done.
Still waiting to see if NYT ruins it. Playing a third party version or alternate version won't be fun.

I usually just guess a totally different word that knocks out letters in that situation I got spoiled tomorrow's but it seemed like one of the hardest yet so I might have lost if I played it

 Re: Wordle
When there is a double letter it gets hard I think, when the word or word options has not become obvious yet it's a word more easily to get stuck on. That's how I lost on knoll two weeks ago or so. Not sure what's the best strategy for double letter words.

Looks like people had the same situation today (if the second letter is missing and you have every other letter, it has enough variations to fuck you if you don't guess right).

 Re: Wordle
Do you guys do the same word each time you start? I haven't. I think of a simple five letter word and go from there. Hasn't really failed me yet, I've only genuinely missed the one so far in about a month of playing.

 Re: Wordle
Yeah, I don't (use the same first word each time). I still want to have fun with it too, so I just choose whatever random that pops into my mind pretty much. Maybe if you want to finish in as few moves as possible, one certain word may be best to achieve that in terms of most common letters or something. But as long as I can get it in 6 moves, which has been most of the time, it's fine for me.

 Re: Wordle
I have a few that I switch between, the one I use the most right now is Learn and Canoe. I heard that Adieu was a good starting word cause of the 4 vowels but I decided not to use it cause it felt too obvious, plus the more I think of it the more I'm not sure 4 vowels is the best anyway.

 Re: Wordle
I think using words like "adieu" doesn't really help you solve it any quicker.
I play it though do miss days. I have a 100% record and usually get in 4 guesses but have got it in 2 once. The hardest is when they have double letters.

 Re: Wordle
Finally lost while playing the wordle archive on Unfed, which barely seems like a real word. I stand my guess that Unwed would've been a better word for them to use.

 Re: Wordle
I just did this yesterday, and then someone at work showed me qwordle. 4 at once with 9 tries, that one is fun, and it has practice mode so you can keep playing.
Same principle as wheel of fortune in my opinion

 Re: Wordle
Cool idea, I got them both (Friday and Saturday after changing my clock) pretty easy though, I think anyone the actors are in it gives it away too much

 Re: Wordle
I got to 80 games in a row before my streak ended out of disinterest (missed a day). Now I am free and I get to leave feeling like a winner.

 Re: Wordle
My maximum streak is 135. But yes, the feeling when the streak is over is one of elation, like a burden has been lifted, lol.

 Re: Wordle
Yeah I gave it up long ago once my streak ended because I just couldn't be bothered anymore.

 Re: Wordle
That's not new. Been around for months. But it gets boring pretty quick. I played it a few times.
