 Re: Joy Ride (2023)
I saw this at an advanced screening last night and it!! So funny and extremely heartfelt and touching, even more so than similar films in this genre. All 4 leads are great but the standout (at least for me) is Sherry Cola who is a STAR and steals every scene she’s in. The movie is very raunchy which makes the juxtaposition between that and the poignant scenes even more impressive imo. Such a great time, I very much recommend. Will definitely have to make a point to see it again in theaters, I really hope this does well for many reasons but especially because these movies deserve the big screen imo

This was fine. Probably more fun to watch with an audience, my theater was nearly empty. Nothing noteworthy but its short and watchable.

It was cute. I didn't think it was laugh out loud hilarious or anything but I enjoyed myself and the ending was sweet. B

Another fine, but mostly tame sex comedy for 2023. The group of girls were a good hang. If this was your first road trip movie it'd probably be a blast. I think it'll have decent rewatch value though.

 Re: Joy Ride (2023)
Stars very well and is very engaging in the middle half but it always feels very much in control and strong armed by script than something these characters would do. The central conflict feels shoehorned and that's my biggest complaint here. The comedy is great and all leads do well but it's not an all timer like Girls' Trip which is much wild yet tells a good story.
