Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
Anya was actually winning early on and I was gonna be a very happy Flava'd. But Yeoh ended up dominating by the end. And honestly it was well deserved. Anya will have plenty more opportunities.
Next up will be Best Director (or directors????)! Holy wow we are almost done.

Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
Eh, you all know who I wanted to win, but I was the only to give Mr. Mylod a vote. Kosinski ended up beating Daniels by 1. However, quite a few people split their Picture / Director votes so this shit aint over yet. Lets roll on to the best picture!

I'm glad the film won Best Director, but damn that is a bad pick on our part.

Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
OK, I'm gonna be completely up front with you guys
Best picture is a tie.
Yeah it sucks.
But I'm not sure what to do about it. I could've switched my vote from The Menu to the one of these two that I preferred more. But that doesn't feel right. So my tiebreaker is gonna be the movie that got more points during the nomination round. Is everyone cool with that? Or should I just give it to both of them? I'll post it in 60 seconds no matter.
Timer starts now!

There must be a single winner, so use whatever criteria you have to to make it Top Gun: Maverick

Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
How did you decide the tiebreaker in the end? Nominations or your casting vote?

Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
Top Gun received 50 points during the nomination round while Everything Everywhere received 32. So I was kinda surprised that EEAAO even made it so close. Though funny enough The Menu actually had the top points with 54, yet only got one vote in the winners round (from me.) Well thanks everyone for tuning in. Sorry about the anticlimatic ending. I have to get ready for work, but if anybody has more questions about the voting I'll be back later to answer them.

Algren wrote: How did you decide the tiebreaker in the end? Nominations or your casting vote? I would have voted for Everything. But it would have been such a cheap lie. Obviously The Menu was my favorite film and switching it to EE would have felt like an abuse of power. That's why I always count my own ballot first.
