Is there any explanation why A.I. numbers were revised downward from ¥9.70B → ¥9.66B https://web.archive.org/web/20140711104 ... s/alltime/

Re: Japan Box-Office: Jurassic World 3 Debut; Top Gun hits ¥
Another one of those sudden changes that I can only guess is done when an actual figure becomes available. ¥9.7 billion may have been a rounded figure all that time. If the gross was ¥9.66 billion, most news outlets would have reported ¥9.7 billion. And if it was still playing when Eiren releases their yearly report, they also may have rounded up to that number.
Now, why are some films being "updated" after so long? Well, to have a more accurate number and list, of course. But maybe they just weren't available back in the earlier days of the internet and they've made efforts to seek the precise numbers out with more access available as well as to the distributors?
That makes like the... fourth or fifth older film to be updated after many years, even decades, over the past year or so.
We don't really know, but I'd like to think they're the more precise, true total. Glad you shared its revision because I'm updating the Top 100 here in a bit.

A few more updated totals came in a little late, so I updated the Top Grossing 2022 Films on the last page.

Re: Japan Box-Office: Jurassic World 3 Debut; Top Gun hits ¥
What happened in 2000 that made Mission: Impossible II's huge gross of 9.7 billion unable to crack 5 million admissions? But a year earlier and two years later, The Matrix and Fellowship of the Ring could get above 5 million admissions with grosses of "just" 8.7 and 9.07 billion...

Re: Japan Box-Office: Jurassic World 3 Debut; Top Gun hits ¥
Glad you brought it up. I never found any admissions for it, but a rather simple search just now brought up an article shared earlier this year with the figure: 6.466 million. I'll finally be able to add it to the chart (Edit: added). If a film doesn't have any reported admissions (that I ever came across), I don't include it. But this means some films not on the chart may have had numbers reported since I last checked. There aren't too many films missing, but M:I 2 was a big one until today.

Re: Japan Box-Office: Charts, Charts, Charts
Not that I would know if it's right or wrong but do you think Wrath of the Dragon could be higher?
If Bio-Broly had a distribution income of ¥1.15 billion but grossed ¥1.9 billion then if Wrath if the Dragon was ¥1 billion shouldn't that be more like ¥1.7 billion?

I'll finally be able to add it to the chart (Edit: added). If a film doesn't have any reported admissions (that I ever came across), I don't include it. But this means some films not on the chart may have had numbers reported since I last checked. There aren't too many films missing, but M:I 2 was a big one until today. Great! I'm glad it's now on there. It looks like Maverick will overtake it soon, too.

It is a weird one, and probably wrong. But I don't have any other figure for it. I'll happily change it if any is shared in the future though.

Re: Japan Box-Office: Charts, Charts, Charts
I can't remember how much of this I've said before but that has the distribution income of all the movies. https://imgur.io/gWooj7UAnd then Crunchyroll and I've seen other sites use the same box office gross and basically it's the distribution income and then times that by 1.7 and that's the gross. So Lord Slug, income ¥1.3 billion x1.7 and that's ¥2.21 billion. Return of Cooler, income ¥1.6 billion x1.7 and you get ¥2.72 billion. Broly Second Coming, income ¥1.45 billion x1.7 and you get ¥2.47 billion. It's like that for all of them. So if it says Wrath of the Dragons income is ¥1 billion I'd have said that was ¥1.7 billion.

Re: Japan Box-Office: Detective Conan Box Office History
No discrimination, I just never had that total for it. Some of these charts were first put together up to 10 years ago, so some numbers might be outdated. I wonder if what I did have was its opening weekend? Given the total, it looks like it could have been. I edited the chart. You've help fill in the gaps and correct a lot this past year.

Got some work to catch up on, but I hope to share some info about One Piece Film Red soon. Reservations recently went up and it's off to an incredible start at the few places I checked. More later.

Re: Japan Box-Office: Charts, Charts, Charts
I'm going to post how several theaters are doing here later, but someone shared how Osaka City Station (which I normally don't track) is looking (already over 50% capacity at a glance with about 56 hours to go before the first showings: Also, people have shared one hour wait times to reserve a seat at Aeon Cinemas. Aeon usually can't handle very high demand, so not surprising, exactly, but the fact it caused them to enter this state is clearly a good sign. Toho Cinemas website went into waiting lines to reserve when they went live at midnight. And United Cinemas also went into a waiting period when sales went live at midnight, with the highest position to reserve a seat up up to 6,800 that I saw. Lastly, Midland Square Cinema appears to be around 75-80% booked for Saturday already. Two sold out showings, while the other 10 showings are at 70%+ capacity. The August OW Record is surely being broken, and a debut over ¥1 billion (while probable beforehand) is looking locked up (maybe quite a bit higher).

Re: Japan Box-Office: One Piece Film Red - Reservations Live
Shinjuku looks hella strong with quite a few sellouts already. I guess franchise OW record should be trivial.

Also Corpse, I was checking around a bit and I was confused as to why some big locations like Namba or Umeda don't seem to be playing the film. Why is that?
