How does it still fit?

I don't know if I still have mine, but I remember it was black and the logo was red. I don't know how I remember that, but I do.

:hahaha: Yeah, I used to wear baggy clothing when I was a scrawny tween. It's adult medium, so now it's all snug and fit.

You... haven't seen it? Really? I thought everyone had. As for the camp, it makes this one look like Batman Begins.

I saw it when I was like, 8, but remember next to zilch. Like Magnus, I also saw this one as a tyke and liked it, but watching it again it's almost painful at moments. Either way, if I ever see Batman & Robin playing on cable, I might stop simply out of morbid curiosity.

I still kind of remember that awful, awful, much-maligned, super funny quote from Arnold in the film, something like: "The name is Freeze, learn it well, for it is the chilling sound of your doom!" (??)... accent and all.

Considering Akiva Goldsman wrote this movie, I'm not surprised at all that it's bad. :hahaha:

Honestly, even watching it today, I still immensely enjoy BF, camp and all. O' Donnell keeps it from getting a better grade, while Carrey was fun to watch. Tommy Lee Jones on the other hand...please never choose a role that goes totally against your on screen persona again.

A- (Favorite of the original series)

Better than Batman and Robin, but not by much.

And I also hate the title, and Burton, despite being the films producer said:

Quote:
"I always hated those titles like Batman Forever. That sounds like a tattoo that somebody would get when they're on drugs or something. Or something some kid would write in the yearbook to somebody else. I have high problems with some of those titles."

Pretty much agree with that. And that can also be applied to the film itself.

Batman - B+
Batman Returns - B+
Batman Forever - C-
Batman and Robin - D
Batman Begins - B

some people really liked this more than the first two. That kinda sucks in my opinion. It was a purely made-for-wide-appeal sequel, and it didn't handle that too well, since Batman is only meant for a certain crowd.

Give me Batman & Robin any day of the week. At least that one's funny awful. This is just plain awful.

And they wasted poor Val Kilmer. Not cool.

Haven't seen this for a long time, i remember it as being a piece of shit. Even as a kid i really, really disliked it. On the other hand: in Batman & Robin there are at least those really, really bad and unfunny (and therefore even more funny) oneliners by Arnold refering to ice, coldness, snow and so forth that make at least like 3 minutes of this mess worth watching ...while the best part of Batman Forever isn't even in the movie - it's the U2 song (and i don't like U2 either).

This is really bad. Usually at least the villains are good in a Batman movie. Not so here. Tommy Lee Jones and especially Jim Carey are absolute shit. Schwarzenegger and Thurman are not good per se, but they at least inject life into an otherwise dreadful film, whereas Jones and Carrey further destroy this one. Carrey would go on to use this exact same schtick in the Grinch, and it's not funny there either. Carrey is probably the most overrated actor of all time. Nicole Kidman is hot and has a great American accent, but her character is superfluous and underdeveloped. And Chris O'Donnell is just shit. Kilmer is the worst Batman, brings nothing to the role. The film is just as bad as Batman and Robin but with far shittier villains.

Carrey was at he peak of his career and his popularity in 95 certainly helped the film's BO.

I liked this more than I expected. I thought it was boring when I first watched it a few years ago, but now I think I still prefer it to the original. Batman has more to do in this one which made it easier to get emotionally invested in the story, and the film was interesting even when the villains weren't on screen for once. I thought the dynamic of Kidman's character alternately falling in love with Batman and then Bruce Wayne but not both was funny. And the production design was good this time, even if the costumes were a big step down from Returns.

Rewatched most of this for the first time many many years. The film is ridiculous but yeah, Kilmer is fantastic and god damn, the scene where Robin struts and Batman agrees to the team would have made 2025 audiences explode chicken jockey style.

I really would love to be Burton’s version, the deleted scenes they show and obviously a more mature edit shows there is a solid movie in there some where butchered in favor of the under 13 demographic. WB fucking up DC properties since 78. It’s a miracle Harry Potter stayed as to tier as it did.
