Thanks, Libs! (BTW...did you see the trailer for Must Love Dogs before The Interpreter, and if so, was it your first time? I thought it looked really good) Onto my comments.
I don't know what it was about Drop Dead Gorgeous, but I really found it to be funny. Hysterically funny. Don't know if that's because of my offbeat sense of humor, or what, but I did a lot of laughing. What's her name from The West Wing was especially funny, and I thought she stole the movie with her lines. That beer can welding to Ellen Barkin's melted flesh on her hand was just too funny.
Denise Richards (omg, was she ever fine in this) would have been the winner in any pageant between those girls, even if her mom wasn't trying to fix it. Her demise was quite funny and unexpected.
I thought the whole cast did great, and it's good to see girls being so funny, when the genre itself is not up to that level. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed in, was the way it ended, with the state pageant being cancelled. I was looking forward to some more funny stuff happening there, and the rug was pulled out from me like it was the contestants. Very enjoyable!

I love this movie! The cast is brilliant. Kirsten Dunst is amazing, and so is Denise Richards. I also really thought Kirstie Alley, and Ellen Barkin were hysterical. It got alot of my inspiration for my script "Prom Queen" from this film. They are very similair. Anyway, I loved this movie, very funny, and I especially loved the ending.

This is one of those movies no one has seen that you would love if you actually did.

I'm glad that it was as funny as I thought it was. Hysterical!
BTW...you never answered my question. Did they show Must Love Dogs before your showing of The Interpreter? I think it looks great.

They might have, but the concessions took forever and we missed the first 2 or 3 previews. That was probably one of them.

That's very possible, as it was the first preview it showed at mine. I'm guaranteeing that you will be happy when you do see it.

After the parade explosion things begin to drag, but the first 3/4 of the movie is comedy gold. Love the nra/tractor deaths, love the beauty queen's hair falling out, I also thought Brittany Murphy was hilarious in this. All good, dancing with Jesus was so true.
Remember, smile and ask for world peace!

This is one of the most underrated movies ever. It's absolutely hysterical from the very beginning to the final epilogue. It never ceases to make me laugh out loud. One of my favorite comedies. A.
