Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
More and more French cinemas are joining the list of those who will broadcast Demon Slayer. So far there are 186, but this is a number that will increase further in the future. Le grand rex, the largest French cinema, has already sold more than 9000 seats in pre-sales and had to add screenings because all those programmed were sold out in a few hours. Places are so precious that some try to sell them for more on the internet. The attendance is so high that there has been bug on reservations sites and 4DX and IMAX format screenings will be added to meet the demand. In short, we can expect very high attendance scores for DS in France. I won't be surprised if he finally manages to exceed my expectations and possibly even reach $3M-$4M (which would represent around 400k-500k admissions)

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
The 2nd place in the end will be good though. I hope the movie has enough showtimes for $4 million before theaters stop showing it.
The only regret for the movie is the China market. Monster Hunter is really a nemesis for the movie. If it had been released in January as they had planned, the movie would have easily made at least $100 million there.
Well, like Tanjiro said "Life is like the weather. It's always changing".

Well, like Tanjiro said "Life is like the weather. It's always changing". Yes!! It's sad that it didn't get to show in China if only it released before Monster hunter. But at least DS might be the only film in 2020 to reach a $500M milestone. This is such a great accomplishment and I can't thank the anime community enough! This will help other companies to invest in anime since there really is monetary returns. Congrats to all of us!

Post any updated numbers and I'll update the first post. I'm thinking it's very close to $485 million now. Any reports from Russia available yet?
The Germany, Switzerland, and Austria release dates have been updated in the first post, too. And share any release dates, if announced, for the remaining "Coming Soon!" markets

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
It will become the second highest grossing anime movie in US, really does not matter if its this weekend or next week. It won't be able to reach first Pokemon's total regardless but I'm hoping it crosses $50m in the end.
