50M looks favored imo. Might even beat Raya.

Following what was done in Japan after the first week, AoA's uploaded the more spoilery trailer to Twitter and YT. They've posted the new key visual too but it's only on the official english site right now. https://demonslayer-anime.com/Should see the other spoiler trailers and the S2 trailer officially posted in the next few weeks given how faithful AoA likes to be in replicating the JP advertising.

There is a Friday numbers thread or weekend thread for US numbers. Can we not duplicate US numbers in both threads? Please feel free to post updates/comment in the other thread if you like.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
I'm still baffled at how BoxOfficeMojo doesn't update Demon Slayer to its latest WW figure (and it's not even close). BoxOfficeMojo has gone downhill since IMDB bought it. And IMDB has gone downhill since it disable message boards.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
Its not just DS even the US movies are not getting proper International numbers nowadays at BOM. On that topic BOM was never great with OS numbers to begin with, just before IMDB was about to buy it they were getting better and then IMDB bought and everything became pointless.

Though I'd wait for an actual number, this weekend is a very, very close call.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
I'm wondering if it's possible for DS to stay no.1 in this upcoming weekend. It'd be the first Japanese film to do so. And it'd be something the official twitter account can celebrate in the next Monday, besides being top WW 2020 film. Talking about WW number, here's a figure from respectable sources Hollywood Reporter is at $450 million plus, good job! Reuters reports $423 million, though Vanity Fair that uses the same number add that it's the highest grossing film globally in 2020. Forbes is the latest source to announce that statement, putting the film at $473 million. Big win for both DS and Forbes!

I think Wrath of Man can do at least $7M, possibly more in this optimistic movie-starved market. I think above Mortal Kombat though which seems headed for annihilation.

Seems like DS has no chance against that number then. Anyway, $385,000 over the weekend at South Korea, making it a total of $16.3 million. Just two weeks away from being top film of the year there according to Variety.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL - #1 WW Film of 202
Cinemas reopen in France on May 19. For the occasion, Demon Slayer will be released immediately on that date. You can add it on the 1st page @Corpse. There is a certain hype for this film in France (I noticed this on twitter in particular), a lot of people follow Demon Slayer and are eager to see the film in theaters after more than 7 months of closures. I think we can expect something around $3M-$4M in France.

New release date in German speaking territories is May 20th - though Swiss and Austrian theaters will be open by than, something like 95 % (or more) of German theaters still will be closed...
