Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
Its legs in SK have been quite good, I believe 10+ bln is basically guaranteed there now.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
If someone can provide the updated numbers for non-Japan markets, I can update the original post. It's been over a month since the last update. And I guess the "rumored" release date for this weekend in the U.S. was technically accurate since it's playing in Miami?

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
https://www.google.com.ph/amp/s/comicbo ... e-opening/Demon Slayer was already shown here in the Philippines. In fact I saw it in my province back in January 2. But I can't seem to find the data available for this . It started showing I believe in Nov 28 to only 3 cinemas for fan screening then expanded to more general showing but limited to the same 3 cinemas then expanded to more provinces. In our province, the cinemas at that time were only open for 3 days Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it is only screened three times to one theatre. You can't book in advance so You have to wait in line. I was there at the opening of the mall and already the first screening was already almost full. My 60 year old mom, me and my sister got the last 3 seats of the first screeing- approximately 30 persons are allowed inside the cinema since you have to be three seats apart. In a span of 30 mins, everything was booked for that day already. It was the No.1 best selling movie despite having Soul and Jackie Chan's latest movie showing at the same time at our province. But I can't seem to find our cinema showing off the sales

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
The super limited screening in Miami turned out successfully. Since Friday, all screenings were fully booked. If Demon Slayer is as popular as MHA, Mugen Train may earn around $5-$10 million in the U.S.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
And it needs $52.65M worldwide to become the highest grossing movie of 2020.
$20M more in Japan is looking very likely, so depending on how things evolve in Europe and North-America I think it could actually take the crown even without China.

It seems DS movie is really developing some good late legs in South Korea. It saw a bump on last weekend (4th weekend) and on this weekend it continued to see a bump on Sat, maybe tomorrow Sun too.

I saw a vid of the reactions of the movie goers. I remembered my experience also. I wish I could repeat it again. https://youtu.be/bwSzxXtjMt4

That's a really good number from Malaysia given the situation there.

Re: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (INTL)
Not seeing it from any official source yet, but Gitesh Pandya (@GiteshPandya) is reporting that it'll finally open in the U.S. on April 23rd!
Don't think he'd make up a random date or use an unconfirmed source somewhere, so it's *probably* true. But I'd wait for official word from Funimation or Aniplex, which I'd expect soon, just in case it was incorrect.
