 The Fundamentals of Caring The Fundamentals of Caring Quote: The Fundamentals of Caring is a 2016 American drama film written and directed by Rob Burnett, based on the 2012 novel of same name by Jonathan Evison and stars Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts and Selena Gomez. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 29, 2016 and was released by Netflix on June 24, 2016.

It is cute and chuckle worthy at times, but it's not as involving as it wants to be. Selena Gomez needs to be banned from acting.

Re: The Fundamentals of Caring I liked it specially because of the chemistry between Rudd and Roberts. Once Gomez enters it enters into predictable and cute category and looses focus on side stories. The finale though was great but it would have been better that it was related to the two leads. Still overall a good heartfelt resolution. Paul Rudd is great in this and Craig Roberts does the best he could get out of this role. Selena Gomez was the weakest link of the movie.
