-If it was just singles I'd go Jlo, but Beyonce's self-titled album from a few years was actually really dope as was The Carters side project.

It would be head to head matchup first, and if that was also a tie then yes it would be margin of victory. So if it ended today, Usher would advance over Mariah since he won by more. Now if that was also a tie, like with Katy and Jlo ... then I dunno lol.

Mariah and Usher was tough. I don't really like Bieber or Beyonce, so those were easy. Janet and Katy was also tough. In the end I just like more songs by Mariah and Katy compared to Usher and Janet.

I like Tik Tok, but to me all of her songs outside of Praying sound too similar to Tik Tok. Bruno Mars' songs from his first album all have a very different sound. Unorthodox Jukebox and 24K Magic have less variety and more ballads, but ballads are my favorite type of song so I guess he's right up my alley.




You do know they debuted the same year, right? I remember when Tik Tok, Your Love is my Drug, We R Who We R, Blow, and Die Young were popular. But they all just sound like attempts to recapture the lightning in a bottle of Tik Tok. Grenade sounds way different than Just the Way You Are which sounds way different from the Lazy Song which sounds way different from Locked Out of Heaven which sounds super different from When I was Your Man

C:
Madonna ties Kelly Clarson: 6-6
Prince def. Whitney Houston: 7-5

-A hard fought tie splits the first match and puts Prince in the driver's seat. Kelly couldn't get the win but has to be thrilled with getting any points off of Madonna.

D:

Adele def. Christina Aguilera: 7-5
Ed Sheeran ties Shakira: 6-6

I actually thought Sheeran would roll through this group, but instead it's an early tie against the surprisingly strong Shakira. Adele is perfectly fine with it.

These two groups are very up in the air. Nobody is out of it yet, and this second day will be huge.

Madonna v Whitney is tough. Don't really love either of them, but appreciate the influence they gave to artists I do like. In that respect, I think Madonna wins since she is arguably the most influential female star in music history.

Adele v Shakira is also very close, but I'll give Adele's 21 album the edge this time over the she wolf. I also love Hurt so much, but no way Xtina can match up to the ginger in overall discography.
