Enough is enough, it is time to determine WOKJs favorite pop singer.

This will be a ROUND ROBIN style tournament where eight groups of four will square off, the winners going on to the final group and a chance to become champion. It will probably take a long time, so there will be many matches per day with around 24 hours to determine the winners. I'd like to get atleast five votes a day though to avoid ties (if there is a tie I will give them half points.)

As for the pool, I divided them into four tiers. The Undisputed, The A-Listers, The Hit-Makers and The Dealer's Choice. If anyone has a problem with the list I am more than welcome to make a switch, but you must not only say who deserves a spot but who they should replace and make a good case for both. This is mostly US based, so sorry international people I don't really care about Robbie Williams or Utada Hikaru and they'd have no chance of advancing against the stacked field anyways. I also set a cutoff decade of the 80s to shorten the list, and again the older people (aside from maybe Elvis) probably would have no chance anyways. I'm also not including groups, though you are more than welcome to consider an artists entire catalog when voting.

Again, this will take at least a month to complete so let me know now if the idea is stupid and any ways to perform it. I feel like the round robin style is more fun and will lead to alot more interesting match-ups.

Rules, per wiki: A round-robin tournament (or all-play-all tournament) is a competition "in which each contestant meets all other contestants in turn".

Lets say KJ vote for Sally. She would get a point, one out of a possible three for the first round. Scott and Firebomb tie so they get half a point, leaving Fred with 0.

So even though Fred lost an individual matchup to Sally, he was still able to come back, win the group and advance to the finals. One loss doesn't knock you out. Every one of these people have taken hits and come back and thus will need to do it again.

Drake should replace Harry Styles, as Drake is more pop and has more pop hits than Harry, who only has one and half hits as a solo artist.

Oh yeah, in terms of popularity Drake would have a case for Tier 1. I didn't include him because I feel that Drake himself would be upset if we considered him more pop than hip-hop and then he would have to write a diss track about me. I don't know if I can take that kind of humiliation.

I'm all in for replacing Harry Styles though.

I've got two endorsements for Lana and nobody besides me wants to defend Charli (she does have a hot 100 #1!!!#Fancy), so the switch will be made. Though if Lana is on, what about people like Fiona Apple and Halsey who are right on the border of pop and alternative? What about Prince??? Though, much like Drake, I feel like Prince would be insulted at being labeled "pop." I'm also still up for finding a place for Lorde.

Jennifer Lopez was a strong consideration, but I've always thought of her as a movie star who also sings, more like Will Smith than a Justin Timberlake who is a popstar who also acts. However, she does have quite a few hits, so I'm not gonna rule her out or in without a third opinion.

No way I'm taking out Usher or The Weeknd though. Usher had FIVE #1 SINGLES in 2004. It was completely absurd. And The Weeknd is weird and R&Bish, but a lot of pop is weird these days. Billie Eilish would have been on here if she was around for longer than the last twenty minutes.

The 80s people Shack listed probably deserve to be included, but I don't think they'd win a single matchup, so agonizing over who they would replace seems pointless.
