Re: Ip Man 4: The Finale
It checks all the boxes that the past movies did and while it is an improvement over Ip Man 3 it does not hold a candle to #1 and #2. Emotional aspects are dialed down way back but the story is pretty much similar #3 where racist US people are bad-mouthing Chinese people throughout and Ip Man saves them multiple times. Surprising I didn't like the action scenes in this but that might be because I binged the whole series together, regardless none of the scenes are memorable this time. The only scene worth mentioning here is the "masters" fight in the hall, Bruce Lee's character addition is cringe worthy and completely wasted. At the very least this doesn't entirely switch gears in second half but the series deserved a better ending than this entry.

Re: Ip Man 4: The Finale
Not as good as the first two, but definitely better than the third movie. The Scott Adkins stuff is just so much damn fun even though the character is so over the top and ridiculous. Out of all these movies though this one to me really felt the most like a B movie with the weak to bad writing and not to mention some of the acting from the extras in this was straight up horrible to cringe inducing. All that being said though Donnie Yen is still great and the final fight was immensely satisfying IMO. I am definitely going to miss seeing this character in these movies.

Re: Ip Man 4: The Finale
Nice comeback after a decent, but ultimately unfulfilling third entry. Ip Man 4 sends this classic character out on a high note against his strongest opponent yet - American racism. And in this case it wears the face of Karate. They did such a job of setting up these bosses, having them run through the other Grandmasters and making it seem like no one could stop them. Good thing Master Yip was around, especially against Cobra Commander, geez what a fucking beast he was.
