Bad Boys 3 under Bad Boys unadjusted club
Pretty simple: BB3 under the $65,807,024 the original made domestic. Unadjusted.
- Time and time again we’ve seen that no one cares about these ancient action franchises - It’s missing it’s most important element: Michael Bay - Smith is on a continued downturn career-wise, excluding the anomaly of Aladdin - Martin Lawrence’s career cratered long ago, but it’s the deterioration of his skills over the past decade that’s the real problem - Trailers are meh
I think this will be close, but if the film is garbage it’s entirely possible.

Netflix should swoop in and grab it. Otherwise, it'll flop.

I think it looks pretty good, and Smith is still a draw in big films, I think it’ll do around what the second did

I have to agree. If Bay were back it might be different, but it probably won’t do much better than Gemini Man.

I agree with the sentiment but the release date and some nostalgia for the series will help it at least get to $75m or so.

The only reason to sell directly to NFLX is if you want to avoid marketing costs but those are already set in at this point so it makes no sense not to release it now. And Rothman slashed Charlie's Angels marketing budget so the same could happen here, too.

Re: Bad Boys 3 under Bad Boys unadjusted club
Why isn’t Michael Bay directing this? He has nothing else going on movie wise and I’m pretty sure he never got caught up in a #MeToo scandal. I know directors aren’t usually that important to box office, but getting the whole team back would make this feel like an event rather than a throwaway cash-grab.

I'm with Magnus on this one. His prediction seems the most realistic IMO, but I could have definitely seen potential for this to do more if they got Bay back which is strange that they didn't. Either way it shouldn't be a huge flop or a huge hit.

Re: Bad Boys 3 under Bad Boys unadjusted club
I guess we all underestimated Bad Boys’ relevance in 2020. The reviews being pretty damned good was also unexpected.

Re: Bad Boys 3 under Bad Boys unadjusted club
The reviews being as good as they were was a huge surprise IMO. I mean no one expected that and even though I don't believe the marketing was all that great they really did push it during a lot of the big NBA/NFL games. Also, 90's nostalgia is still going strong it seems at least with certain properties which could be mean great things for Matrix 4 next year.
