 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
A ton of great films. Man of Steel is probably the favorite for me in terms of "rewatchability".
Gravity was one of my favorite theater experiences ever (along with TDKR and Interstellar).
But that's a damn fine year.

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
My favorite film from 2013 is Anchorman 2, but the alternate extended unrated cut which didn’t come out until 2014. Not sure how to vote on this one.
It was an OK year, probably my least favorite of the decade. I do love Frozen, World’s End, Wolf, Man of Steel and Oblivion.

From that list probably Her.
I'm glad Man of Steel seems to be more appreciated more with time. Felt like I was in the twilight zone when everyone around me were meh about3it.

"Other" because of Inside Llewyn Davis, Kaguyahime no monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya) and Tian zhu ding (A Touch of Sin).
From the poll options it's Her.

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
not sure which has aged better for me.... Gravity or Her. Gravity in IMAX remains one of the most visceral, thrilling movie experiences ever. But Her is so poignant, haunting, beautiful; a sweet story with thematic vision. hmmmm...

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
Still the best year of the decade for me (by far). So much to choose from:
The Wolf of Wall Street Prisoners Captain Philips Before Midnight Fruitvale Station The Place Beyond the Pines Rush American Hustle The Great Gatsby Frozen Her Inside Llewyn Davis Gravity Iron Man 3
All the above i'd rate between an A- and A+

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
Remembering Her came out that year reminds me that Spike Jonze hasn't directed another feature since. He's long overdue.

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
2013 was a great year.
The poll has a lot of great films, Man of Steel is one best superhero films. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Pacific Rim are not very good though.
My top 4. 1. Rush 2. The Great Gatsby 3. Gravity 4. The Wolf of Wall Street
Dallas Buyer's Club is an honorable mention too.
And I prefer Enemy over Prisoners as Villeneuve's best film of 2013.

I will do a run-off with the films with at least 2 votes (currently Her, Man of Steel, Frozen) and Inside Llewyn Davis

I loved The Heat! Saw it twice in theaters and watched it recently last year on a plane and still laughed my ass off

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
By now, Frozen is the winner of this poll, while Gravity won in the emergency thread. Mankind will not survive this rift.

I never had a good answer for this because I hadn't seen the best film of 2013 yet.

Such a great cinematic year. Perhaps the last truly great one.

This is another great one I hadn't seen at the time of the poll. Top 10: 1) Snowpiercer 2) Frozen 3) Enemy 4) Oblivion 5) Wolf of Wall Street 6) Man of Steel 7) Side Effects 8) The World's End 9) Gravity 10) Inside Llewyn Davis Honorable mentions: Sharknado for being the best purposefully bad movie ever. And as for Anchorman 2: the original is good but the alternate cut where they replaced every joke with a new one is a treasure that was release the following year.

 Re: Favorite film of 2013?
Man of Steel, Escape Plan, The Great Gatsby, or Oblivion.
It's so much better to do 'best of' polls years later when you're way more objective and not caught up in the latter year buzz of award/prestige films. For example; I loved American Hustle at the time. I still remember it fondly. But have I watched it since? Nope. But those four I mentioned above I still regard very highly and still watch.

Snowpiercer Snowpierce came out in 2014. Letttrbox lied to me. I'm back to not having a good pick for this year lol. Frozen is great and better than the rest but not a 10/10 type of leader most years have.
