Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire originally vied for the lead role in the film, so I'm guessing their eyes were on the awards and the script is a good one.

This is probably one of my most anticipated movies of the year. I think it could be fantastic. Excellent director, excellent cast (Jake Gyllenhaal! Right on! Plus Foxx, Saarsgard, Chris Cooper), solid source material? (I assume, I actually have no idea). Anywho, count on at least 3 nominations. Solidly done war flicks can easily garner nominations for sound and editing, plus some actor noms are definitely possible. Not to mention, if it turns out to be really good, nominations for Adapted Screenplay, Director, the works.

Anywho, I could be deluding myself. Who knows. Who cares.
