Under Siege 3 ... Seagal as star, writer, director.
Quote: "You always play the good guy in films. I do prefer being the good guy, yes.
Why is that? Because you believe in justice? Yes.
Why have you never been in an Expendables film? I just didn’t like some of the people involved.
The cast is made up of so many people I guess you couldn’t like all of them. Life is too short to work with funny people.
Would you like to name any names? Of course not. There’s good and bad people everywhere and a lot of people in The Expendables I like too. So it’s okay.
Have you thought of assembling your own team and taking them on? That might happen.
Who would be on your dream action team? I like Jason Statham. I like Jet Li, people like that.
Would you have to be the leader though? No I don’t care, I don’t have any ego about that. I’m just a simple country boy.
Under Siege was set on a boat, Under Siege 2 was on a train, if they made an Under Siege 3 where would it be set? I would set it in Russia.
It seems like Russia has been Hollywood’s default bad guy forever. I sorta think the opposite. I think that America and Russia should be great allies and great friends. And can be. What I want to do is write a movie, which I’ve sorta already done, where Russian special forces and American special forces work together to combat terrorism. The only way for us to prosper as a human race is for us to get along. There are hundreds of millions of people that want that.
Would it be on a boat or a train or would it be about something bigger than that? I don’t want to make it too big. I don’t want it to look like Die Hard 47 or something like that. I’d like to make it a bit more realistic if I can.
After your tour what films do you have coming up? I’m trying to do Under Siege 3, which is the plot that I told you. I’m trying to do some martial arts films in China. I have a lot of different scripts and ideas.
So Under Siege 3 will happen? Sure hope so.
You are a man of peace but make violent films – how do you resolve those two things? There’s no resolving. I’m trying to help people and protect people and save people. A real warrior is a warrior who protects the peace. I’m just trying to get out there and make movies that try to tell a story and bring people joy and make the world a better place." http://www.bigissue.com/features/interv ... iving-scumLOL.

I'm actually a little surprised WB hasn't remade Under Siege. The original is really a lot of fun (the second one is too, but in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way).

Re: Under Siege 3 ... Seagal as star, writer, director.
All the good "Die hard on a ...." plots were taken. And the 2nd flopped a bit if I remember. These films just aren't that good anymore. I doubt a reboot would generate much interest, especially as the young face of current action movies is no one of merit.

They might be able to make it a little more intelligent. More of a fictionalized Captain Phillips type thing rather than dumb 90's action.

Re: Under Siege 3 ... Seagal as star, writer, director.
Not heard anything about this since, but I did see today that Above the Law 2 is announced. Seagal coming full circle? This would be a sequel to Seagal's very first film, that also starred Sharon Stone. It would be strange if this somehow got made and somehow got a theatrical release. The first only made $18m. I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to out-gross it. In the UK, it was titled Nico, so I hope they call it "Nico 2" there.

No thanks. Reboot this with a new actor/actress.

I probably don't even want to know the shady reasons why someone would invest in a SS movie in 2018.

It might be the first Seagal film I'll see since I think Belly of the Beast, which I have a hard time recalling even, maybe I just nearly watched that only.

I've never seen a Seagal film at the cinema. That's amazing really. Then again, I've only seen one Van Damme film and that was The Expendables 2. I should have went to see Black Water!! Fuck. Missed opportunity.

It's funny that when we were most interested in those films and those guys were in their prime we were not old enough to see those films "live".

I just see a guy that’s been accused of having sketchy associations since he got into the business and wonder.

Re: Under Siege 3 ... Seagal as star, writer, director.
Well, his early movies were literally produced by a mobster...and he’s friends with Putin. But sure, we’ll assume he’s a great guy despite decades of producers, directors, co-stars etc saying he’s an asshole.

Even mobsters like to see a profit....which is why they funnel money into his productions. That's the point here. Not whether he is an asshole. We all know he is.

He is referring to Julius Nasso, who was associated with the likes of John Gotti.
