Summer weddings are the best, congrats.
Any thoughts as to where you'll honeymoon?

We're deciding between Venice and Sienna (sp?) in Italy.
Aruba is a slight possibility, too.

Aruba is a bit pedestrian. I vote Italy, not that my vote counts.

Take it from me, go to Siena. not only is it my favorite town to visit (outside of living in Rome) the medieval architecture is hauntoing and romantic. Right up the road is San Gimigano (sp?) too. The art work is sedtacular the main piazza is great, and its open later. That's a big deal.
It virtually impoaaible to actually find a decent (and tasty) restaurant in Venice. It sold it sould to tourism a long time ago, has a dead industry so all the youth left. All that's left is old touris, and they go to bed early. If you think I'm joking, read the Comfort of Strangers. The couple couldn't find a place to grab a bite to eat at 8, and the three times I went, neither could I. I hate the canals, the Pigeons are digusting (Hitchcock must have been here) and there's no privacy. Overhyped and isolated.
Siena you can grab a car or jump on the train, go to some many of the breathtaking Medieval villages in the area. Cortona is one of my faves too, and the entire best wine country is right there at Monalpucino and Montalpucciano (that whole area). Nicer landscape too, and you're closer to Florence and Rome (though I'm not that big a fan of Florence either...but its much better than Venice).
Only good thing about Venice besides the Eastern influence on the art is the Jewish quarter (actually othodox unlike the rest of the country). Strongest one in Italy, and its still only about two buildings.
Sienna's one of my dream cities though  But warn you, all these cities are remarkably small. They still stayed within city limits, so I think Sienna only has a population of 24,000. Nice for four days, but I would suggest hopping around and seeing the whole area. Almost all the cities there get small in less than a week.

Yeah, we were actually leaning towards Siena (ugh, how do ypu spell it? heh). I doubt we'd stay there the *entire* time, presumably moving around Italy a bit.

Go with Venice
I'll be in Italy in the summer (Venice, Milan, Verona) too, by the way.

You know how many murder mysteries are written and placed in Venice??? There's a reason for it! The streets go dead at like 9.
BTW. I think now would be a good time to remind you though that I'm really into medieval western painting and architecture, so my view might be alittle skewed. That being said, the first time I went with a friend (with no expectations) and we planned to stay the night. We ended up jumping an an overnight train back to rome cause we'd had enough. The third time I went with a class for three days, we were all more than finished by the second day. But there are more museums and some modern art in Venice, which you won't get in Siena Libs, so if you like it, there is a bit more day stuff to see there.

Considering what honeymoons are designed for, I doubt they'll have much time for sightseeing.

Good luck for the big day, Libs! Maybe you can get Vanessa Carlton to depress your guests by playing a lament of teenage romance at your wedding And then bag her for me.
Venice huh? Im sure you won't be dissapointed. Ive already planned my honeymoon which is as terrifying as it is sad.
Now just to find a wife. Can i call those phone-booth numbers for one? Hmm...
