This thread has been created to allow WOKJ members to rank the current 8 films in the main Star Wars series.

The side 'Star Wars Story' films such as Rogue One and Solo are NOT ELIGIBLE for this particular ranking.

Please use only the films' numbering, preferably in roman numerals I - XIII. Do not add extraneous information such as titles, grades, or comments.

Once the ranking posts begin, the OP of this post will display an occasionally updated aggregate WOKJ ranking based on the following scoring system: the episode a KJ member ranks first (highest/best) will receive 8 points, episode ranked second will receive seven points, and so on, until the episode ranked eighth (lowest/worst) will receive 1 point. Note: Incomplete lists with less than 8 films ranked will not be eligible, nor included in the WOKJ aggregate ranking calculation.

I mean I love all these films. I think this is uneven, but ironically where III moved so far in the right the direction still had bad acting, the acting is top notch here, but the story is completely nonsensical.

I'm guessing now that Fisher past they will make the next one take place a few years later so this new future band of resistance forms. And they start with her funeral.

For me 8 is hands down the worst. Rogue One would go between 3 and 6 probably. Without going into the *myriad* problems I have with 8, and without spoilers, every awesome thing set up by TFA was for me squashed by TLJ. Which in retrospect strongly diminishes all the positive feelings I managed to develop for TFA. I forgave most of my qualms with the movie because of the promise of ep VIII. Perhaps if episode IX can manage to fix all those mistakes by some miracle, I'll hate VIII less. But the damage is done. And say what you will about the prequels, but at least they all had damn amazing light saber duels.

Well of course they would have amazing lightsaber fights.

I hate to agree, but the lightsaber battles have been mostly meh in these 2 films. Probably the best ones were when Finn had it, but those were non eventful at best but fun because we never saw that. None matched Phantom, Return, or ESB, but I remember 5 great ones in Sith, and 2 had Yoda, the gladiator arena and well Yoda again! That "Yoda Man marketing campaign still stays with me"

Say what you want about Lucas, but he had that Rocky formula. Maybe you didn't like the movie but he had the fights and always went further with them.

Did not need a thread to know what the top three would be and what the bottom two would be.

The real dogfights are in the middle rankings.

For example, I believe that VIII is currently in a honeymoon phase and will ultimately drop to its rightful position below III.
