Re: Who are your favourite comedians?
Been watching a lot of Carlin. The guy is a damn philosopher. He preaches and rants more than tells jokes, but it's hilarious and you're opening your mind too! Absolutely love this guy.

I've never seen anyone be able to seamlessly weave between major and often dark themes and switch into something as mundane as a pet dog. And never misses a beat between.

Interesting. I prefer Gervais' stand-up to his sitcoms and television appearances, even though The Office and Extras are among the best sitcoms ever produced.

Lisa Lampanelli and Ann Coulter (not a comedian but she should be, I loved her set at the Rob Lowe roast)

Robin Williams. I found his manic energy hilarious but he was funny even when you took that all away.

Re: Who are your favourite comedians?
Started listening to Bill Hicks again and wishing he had way more time with us. Comedy is missing a voice like his. As much as I like a guy like Bill Burr, it doesn't always feel as genuine as someone like Hicks. Burr puts on the act well. Hicks lived it.

He died forever ago and felt old at the time, but Carlin would only be 84 today. It was really a loss that there wasn't another 15 years of his takes.

That's crazy, but I'm kind of OK he isn't here for everything of the past few years. Everyone seems to think he would agree with their side, and I imagine when he didn't, people pissed off with his opinions would say "Oh Carlin is gone senile, he hasn't been good since the Seven Dirty Words anyway". But there is no one who was better at comedy than Carlin.
