French versions of any movie suck. Really, really suck. It's not just the dubbing (which is godawful anyways), but the jokes just somehow don't translate well in french. (And I speak french pretty well and it still ain't funny.)

The first movie I've seen in theaters since January. It was consistently amusing, and occasionally hillarious. While it never really aspires to be anything more then 90 minutes of mostly funny spoofs mixed with the usual sprinkling of toilet humor, would we really want it any other way? B-

Wow.
Maybe it was something about getting pure slapstick without any of the crappy Zucker story, but I laughed my head off. I didn't really understand anything, but I think it almost made it better. Seriously, they should've released this movie like this everywhere, it wasn't just me. My exchange group in the back row laughed 10x more than anyone else in the crowd. MDB skit was the best, though there was a lot of good moments. For now I'd say A- and 2nd best of the series just for how much of a riot I had, but I'll wait until the english viewing before I give a full grade.

Hmm... so the movie isn't "bad" per se. But the movie lacks on laughs BIG TIME. That's a huge problem. They used too many jokes again, as well. They repeated the Michael Jackson joke! Geesh. The movie, while overall poor, not funny, and uneven, had some great laugh out loud moments. Too bad they couldn't encompass the whole film.
My favourite sketches were:
The opening scene (Saw spoof). I absolutely admire Dr. Phil for making fun of himself! It shows true class, and confirms to me that he must have some real merit behind his job and his show, since an insecure person would NOT agree to spoofing himself. The "Kobe?" line was ingenius, and overall, just a nicely paced and cool opening.
The Village spoof. This was absolutely hilarious mostly for the town meeting scene. The making fun of the weird use of old english language was laugh out loud funny, and the blind girl walking in during the meeting and than taking off her robe and having a shit at the back of the room in an open-able bench was FREAKING hilarious. It had stupid fart sounds, but it all just worked out so well. Plus she had the hilarious outfit underneath. Hah.
Father: "Ahem."
Blind girl: (Reacts to noise) "I'm not in my house, am I?"
lmao.
My favourite little line bit was:
Cindy: "I saw a face."
Tom: "Did it have a nose?"
Cindy: "Yes."
Tom: "That sure sounds like a face."
So simple, yet so hilarious! And Anna Faris always plays her lines so well.
This brings me to Anna Faris, the one SAVIOUR of this franchise. I believe she is a gifted comedic actress, with great comic timing and an excellence sense of how to say her lines. She reminds me of Steve Martin. Steve Martin's films lately are crappy duds (in my opinion), however Steve Martin will always be an A+ actor for me, since he is always so wonderful, and a great physical comedic actor.
To conclude:
Scary Movie 4: C- (saved from D territory by some few good bits, by Anna Faris, and by Leslie Neilson)
Anna Faris: A+ (she's hot too)
PEACE, Mike.

Oh, c'mon, that Michael Jackson bit was so unexpected!!! I thought it was hilarious, because I knew someone was going to try to take the little girl. That was one of the funniest bits of the movie for me.

It wasn't great. Although I don't see how anyone could think it was worse than Scary Movie 3.

The cinematic equivalent of throwing Shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.
Unfortunately not much does.

Both are equally mediocre.

 Re: Scary Movie 4
Who introduced and removed the "I don't plan on seeing this film" as an option to grade the film?
It helps to gauge KJ's interest in it (although there isn't really a large enough base that contributes to this threads now anyway).

 Re: Scary Movie 4
It is a useless option since you are only supposed to review a film if you've seen it. No need to have people that haven't seen the film and have no interest in seeing the film check the thread.
