Meh on all those choices. Legend of Tarzan had $85m written all over it, it only reached $126m. Hardly THAT impressive. And if Bad Moms wasn't impressive because "there's always a surprise R-rated comedy", that's like saying "mom getting cancer wasn't a surprise because there's always someone that gets cancer". Gun trying to be a smart ass. And bad box office runs aren't impressive.

Mine would be:

Deadpool - no explanation necessary.
Hacksaw Ridge - 4.1 multiplier and it's still going.
Bad Moms - 4.7 multiplier and came out of nowhere. Also looked shit.
The Jungle Book - sheer size of its gross was a surprise. It even beat #1 on this list.
The Secret Life of Pets - highest grossing non-Pixar, non-Shrek, non-Disney CGI animated film ever.

Wow that's brilliant for RO. Didn't expect it to clear $150m. SW brand is just huge in States

Agree that's a lackluster PTA for Fences. It looks like a depressing film, Denzel or not, and I'm not even sure nominations will generate additional interest.

I consider those tier I of 2016. I'd put RO in a tier II level with Finding Dory, Bad Moms, Sully, Lights Out, and some others.

Suicide Squad opened to $133 MILLION DOLLARS.

And couldn't out-gross a film that opened to $75m. :funny:

And Finding Dory, a film that opened to just $2m more than Suicide Squad, finished with $486m and #1 for the year. Suicide Squad's measly $325m performance was only impressive for its first three days. It is the equivalent of premature ejaculation. It ended #8 of the year.

And Rogue One opened to $155 MILLION DOLLARS and it still didn't make Magnus's list, so..

It is too early to tell, no? What if Rogue One makes $650 million? Where would you put it then?

Maybe one day you'll learn something about box office. I mean, I'm not hopeful as you've learned nothing in the time you've been here. But hey, weirder things have happened.

SUICIDE SQUAD's legs were actually pretty good considering how bad of a movie it is. I'd argue it should make the top 5.

I own MAN OF STEEL, BATMAN V SUPERMAN, and SUICIDE SQUAD in 4K despite not liking any of them. Clearly DC has some hold over me.
