Post Beauty and the Beast Special Edition vs. Theatrical Cut
When you watch Beauty and the Beast, do you prefer the version that includes "Human Again", or the version without?

I don't think I've ever watched it without Human Again. In my life, Human Again has always been a part of Beauty and the Beast. I like the song very much, even if it's slightly weaker than the other songs in the film.

The theatrical cut is the version I grew up with and the one I prefer, though I don't mind "Human Again."

FTR, the special edition with Human Again was released theatrically in a beautiful IMAX format in 2002 - personally I didn't think the overly cgi new sequence was a good visual match for the original, though the song is fine.

I saw the IMAX re-release back when it came out.

The one thing I remember from that IMAX version was how little characters in the background of the film looked ridiculous when blown up onto an IMAX screen. A drawing that is like two inches tall when drawn works fine on a regular screen but when blown up, it's ridiculous.

Another point for computer animation in that regard.

As for the extra song, I like it and I like how they worked it into the entire flow quite well.

Never heard that song before. It's fine enough.

So if all of the decorations, utensils, etc... in the castle are people, wtf did he use to eat with when he was human?

Most of the silverware and things don't have any personalities at all, so I assume they just came to life when the curse happened and went back to being simple cutlery once it was lifted.

More importantly:

1. How come no one ever noticed this castle within traveling distance of this town? Isn't that their liege lord? Wouldn't they say "Hey, what happened to him?" after ten years or so?

2. What happened to the Beast's parents? If they've been cursed for ten years, and the curse was that he must find love by his 21st birthday, then he was 11 when it happened, right?

What was the Beast prince of? Obviously nothing?

How was there a painting of 21 year old beast when the beast was cursed at 11?

Why would you curse an 11 year old for being an asshole? All 11 year olds are assholes!

Disney back then did not care about age, i think ariel was 16 when she married that prince who was like 30.
