 Difference between good acting and scenery chewing? I struggle to tell the difference. Any tips on how to spot which is which?

Re: Difference between good acting and scenery chewing? People scenery chew in real life all the fucking time, so acting can mimic that and still be good. It's all subjective, so just go with what Chippy said and you'll be fine.

Re: Difference between good acting and scenery chewing? I was just thinking of Meryl Streep in Into the Woods. I think she was amazing, but David called her scenery chewing theatrics unspectacular.

EDIT: Except musicals, which exist in another fantasy time/space completely.
