What the hell's a Hollaback Girl?
Changed the poll question since some people actually like the song and the right answer was getting pummeled. My new vote is no.

Not quite, but it's *really* bad.
I physically cringe every time I hear that on the radio.
Why in God's name was that released as a single? Bleh.
Oh, and why can't Gwen Stefani go back to her roots and start singing things like "Spiderwebs" and "Don't Speak" again?

Because she wanted to do something different. Anyway, I don't think its a very good song. I always skip it when I'm listening to the album, and the video is terrible. She should of released Danger Zone or Crash instead of that terrible song.

I can answer that very easily. She doesn't go back to her roots because it's the whole rap/ghetto scene that is dominant in music today. Ever wonder why she always does collaborations with black artists (well not really artists but rappers). She's also ghetto-fied her wardrobe and became pretty damn skinny (which she looked better before). She's pulling a madonna by changing with the times and it's that simple.
And something that I don't understand is what is with all the japanese stuff on her album about? Notice her videos and so on there's always something japanese in it.

Too bad, indeed. "Don't Speak" is one of my favorite songs.

If she was just gonna do No Doubts songs all over again (which I love) then I see no point in a solo album...when she can just go back to No Doubt.

I'd like to see it.
Lyrically, the chorus on HBG is pretty bad. But the production is great, and since at no popint on the album is she trying to pass off the music as anything more than it is (come on!! you'd think you get that point across after that intro to what you waiting for, or any part of rich girl??!!, it's still enjoyable.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a Record of the Year Grammy nomination for this one.

I'm gonna try to find the video of a 12 year old drummer and then you'll understand how pathetic it really is.

Maybe..are you saying that high school kids are incapable fo talent.
Anyway, I probably use the wrong words in my original post. The drumwork is terrific in the way that it compliments the rest of the production for a great result.

High school kids can have talent, but they're not that great. Ever sit through a high school play? It's bad.
The way you worded it in that quote sounds a lot better. The drumwork works for the song but any high school marching band can do it (and that's why it's a marching band doing it in the video)

I'm proud to say I haven't heard it...
Still, I'm sick of hearing people say that she did something "new." Honestly, if you listened to the No Doubt albums, you would have seen a shift from the earlier rock to the top 40 stuff. It could've had the No Doubt label...

Stay away from it!! Stay away from it like a room filled with Tom Arnold, Pauly Shore, Kathy Griffin, Andy Dick, did I say Tom Arnold?

Because, hot on the heels of urban black hip-hop culture is the white man's new cultural fascination, the super-techno Japanese imported culture, filled with funny emoticons ^_^ and chock full of references to tenticle raping anime creations. You do know that every second young Japanese girl is given samurai sword ninja lessons at 15. The other half become giesha.
They have to get moving though, because we tried to do it to the spanish culture but that became passe went out when Ricky Martin finally came out of the closet and Santana ended up doing guest stints with every white rocker looking for some cred.
The question is, once we get done raping Japanese culture, who's will we be raping next? Ethiopia, I'm looking your direction!
