 Re: Production Budgets
I don't think I have been this baffled by a budget in years. I mean, in all seriousness, did they expect a $400+ million worldwide grosser?

I hope both movies do well and can make back their budgets. I think Miss Peregrine should. Will at least come close to 100 Million domestically and do well overseas.

 Re: Production Budgets
Birth of a Nation's budget was $6.5-7million according to a recent Nate Parker interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hMDO-7NZuM5:43 mark & 12:19 mark I can't wait to see it.

 Re: Production Budgets
I thought Jack Reacher: Never Go Back had a budget in the 90s.

 Re: Production Budgets
I thought to have read that somewhere as well. It definitely does not look like it. I hope it does have such a budget though as it makes the chances this franchise being continued smaller. There seems to be some nice story within the film, but the script translates it so poorly.

That's a great budget compared to the first two movies...

 Re: Production Budgets
With that budget and already almost $100M OS, Inferno will be a profit no matter how it does in US.

THR:
$165M Doctor Strange $125M Trolls $40M Hacksaw Ridge
Quite expensive for DS, but it looks really effects heavy, so I'm not that surprised. Trolls is pretty standard for animated flicks these days, but it needs to be a hit for the studio. Hacksaw should definitely be profitable with OS numbers.

 Re: Production Budgets
Hacksaw Ridge will be profitable with domestic alone.
But wow at Doctor Strange. I know Marvel has money to throw around, but that is going to be difficult to make profitable.

But wow at Doctor Strange. I know Marvel has money to throw around, but that is going to be difficult to make profitable. Considering they recently paid €450 for my plane ticket to Berlin (for a ticket that normally costs less than €100) because they just couldn't figure out their schedules sooner and booked the tcket less than 24 hours before the flight, they must heat their studios by burning money. Ever wonder about huge marketing costs? It is the sum of things like these. Anyway, Doctor Strange will break even easily.

I'm pretty sure you just said that to counter my "difficult to make profitable" comment. You're too clever to actually think it will be easy to make it profitable. By my calculation, it will need at least $450m worldwide to break-even. That's never obtained easily.

Anyway, of course I said that to counter your statement because I am convinced that it will break $450 million worldwide with ease. For some reason you keep thinking that this film has some very limited potential, but Ant-Man made $520 million worldwide and Doctor Strange sure as hell has bigger potential. It has made $86 million internationally last weekend with China, India, Brazil, Russia, Japan and other markets still to go. In South Korea Doctor trange opened to $18 million which is almost the total gross of Ant-Man there. It easily outopened Ant-Man in most markets so far actually. I'm thinking $600+ million WW.

 Re: Production Budgets
Billy Lynn will need overseas. In the US it will get a quarter of that!
Beasts is high but then WB is expecting it to be HP9.
