Re: Moonlight is going to win BP Doubtful. Like has been said plenty of the Academy won't watch it. I almost feel like more white Academy members will watch it than African American Academy members. Homophobia is very rampant in the African American community. Even going on the Facebook page for the film there are plenty of complaints. And yet I still feel many white Academy members won't watch it either. I do think it will get a good number of nominations though and will probably win something. But most likely not the big prize.

Re: Moonlight is going to win BP It's a great movie and it may well finish the year at #1 on my personal list, but it's not winning Best Picture. It's way too small, low-key, etc. If they didn't go for Boyhood with a much stronger awards narrative (even though the media has pushed the Oscars So White angle hard, I think the fact that it happened two years in a row indicates that the mostly old, white Academy just doesn't care, so I don't see that angle playing into Moonlight's narrative significantly enough to move the dial), they won't go for Moonlight.

The top 3 are def La La Land, Manchester and Moonlight though.

Re: Moonlight is going to win BP Actually things are less silent for Lion than I thought they would be. It scored four Golden Globe noms, two SAG noms and six Critics' Choice Awards noms (including Best Picture).
