Post Hacksaw Ridge vs Dunkirk
Which do you predict will be the better movie - Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge or Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk?

Hacksaw Ridge is my most anticipated film for the rest of 2016 - it received a 10 minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. Mel Gibson is batting .750 in his directorial work, and Hacksaw Ridge looks to push him up to .800!

Based on Christopher Nolan's increasingly overwrought directorial style, I optimistically expect Dunkirk to be a drab dung heap.

I expect Dunkirk to be the better film. The trailer for Hacksaw Ridge didn't excite me. It was my most anticipated and long-awaited film for years until I saw the trailer. Whereas Dunkirk's teaser was intriguing and effective. However, Hacksaw Ridge's reception with critics is pleasing me and obviously still making it a must-see.

This is highly subjective. I love nolan and so I would say dunkirk.

I'm a much bigger fan of Gibson than Nolan, but that Hacksaw Ridge trailer was so meh. Hopefully then, it impresses more because of my low expectations. *fingers crossed*

People love Nolan way more than Gibson, so it doesn't matter how good Dunkirk actually is, it will be proclaimed a masterpiece nonetheless. Liking Nolan films makes people feel smart.

Hacksaw Ridge looks like Unbroken 2. I really like Mel as a director but I don't think I could stomach two hours of that.

Dunkirk looks pretty good so far. Nolan got his first major misfire out of the way last time so hopefully this movie will make him great again.

I agree with the consensus that Hacksaw's look and trailer are disappointing but the reviews are damn good so still looking forward to it.

Dunkirk on the other hand has a great teaser and expecting big things from it. Hoping its a SPR level blockbuster surprise.

More a fan of Gibson than Nolan and I actually like the Hacksaw Ridge trailer too, it doesn't make it stand out, but simply looks good. Dunkirk on the other hand has a more promising teaser, but it could really still go either way. I have more faith in Hacksaw Ridge at the moment.

Dunkirk because it's Nolan and not a religious movie.

Hacksaw Ridge ended up being a big disappointment to me (though I fully expect it will still be better than Dunkirk).

I loved Hacksaw Ridge, but if anyone can top it it's Nolan.
