 Re: The Nice Guys
The most I've laughed since Kimmy season 1. The Nice Guys really clicked with me and my sense of humor. Every shot is gorgeous, but also designed to pack in as much visual humor as possible. And the actors/characters are strong enough to keep things brazy during the dramatic times. And even some of those moments gave great comedic payoffs. Get away Nixon!!

I also loved how it stayed right at the boundary of being so cool and slick without crossing into obnoxiousness like some other modern noirs.
I'd even rank it ahead of the also terrific Inherent Vice.

 Re: The Nice Guys
This was so much fun. Funniest film I've seen this year. Excellent script, lovable cast, great to see Basinger in another good role. Gosling's daughter is on point too. The setting is so likable with a nice score too. Both Gosling and Crowe put forward one of their best parts in this excellent throwback film. Above all it's just a lot of fun. Easily on the same level as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

I also watched this this weekend. It was a riot. I could watch Gosling fall off of buildings for 2 hours.

 Re: The Nice Guys
The leads and Rice are good but the storyline just doesn't take off for me. I think it was hard to believe that a porno tape would be that much of a danger to cause all this, and it kind of resets multiple times without really going to another level and then ending.

 Re: The Nice Guys
I liked this a lot more than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
