It was helped by Christmas and the holidays, but it still held well after opening weekend.

That's internal frontloading upon opening. Generally, when talking about "frontloading", it is total gross with relation to its opening weekend. I think what's happened here is that Magnus said something wrong (which is unusual) about box office. The Dork Shape called him out. And he's going deeper into it, trying to convince himself that he's right with an increasingly illogical argument. Just admit it, dude. Nobody cares.

nObody cares dude shut the fuck up. This is borderline Trump statement. Stop it. But did TDK leave a bigger pop culture foot print than TFA? You tell me. If the corrupt media covered the box office honestly, TDK would be beating TFA by 20%.

Re: STAR WARS : ROGUE ONE Predictions December 16th 2016
This is going to do less than half of Force Awakens total, that much is obvious. Force Awakens, like Phantom Menace, was a generation-uniting film that made people come out of the woodworks because it was the return of the original cast and characters.
Rogue One has...one half second shot of the back of Darth Vader's head, and the Star Wars brand. It's a fans-only thing. Granted, Star Wars has an immense fanbase that could push it past $400m, but still. Any talk of $600m+ or even $500m+ is ludicrous.

I predict a total of $318m. Still very good, just not the out-of-this-world numbers that The Force Awakens put up.

Funny that my $318m prediction is so stupid, yet... Rev wrote: I have no idea what this will do at BO. Will the none hardcore fans show up like they are doing for TFA? Maybe, maybe not.
My first prediction is 100-125m OW n 280m-320m domestic

Re: STAR WARS : ROGUE ONE Predictions December 16th 2016
But audiences were clearly attached to those characters and their origins....otherwise it wouldn't have grossed $430 fucking million.

You saying it can muster $400 million on the power of its fanbase alone but cannot muster enough interest outside of its fanbase to generate $100 million more is what's ludicrous. Even the worst movie of the bunch made over $450 million adjusted, and that had neither a lot of goodwill, support from critics or the holiday season to help it.

There is still very little hype for this film. It's almost time to panic.
