I'm not sure what Amber's reason for marrying Johnny Depp was. To become a bigger star? Eh, that's not a tactic that typically works. It seems more likely she was super enamoured by the concept of Jonny Depp (whom many women of many ages have gone crazy over for decades) and ended up in a very bad relationship. I'm glad she got out of it, and called attention to what a fucking nutjob he is. Donating the money she got in the settlement was a nice gesture, but I really doubt her detractors are going to speak of her any differently now.

I'm sure she'll continue to do fine when it comes to acting. She's hardly someone who'll receive top billing, but then that hadn't been the case before, but at least she's pretty with a solid resume, which gives her an advantage over other actresses of comparable ability.

I do not know where the chips precisely lay, but this whole period in time definitely seems a net loss for Johnny Depp. A cementing of a certain downward trend. The weight gain. The flopping of Alice Through the Looking Glass. The vanity-project band with Joe Perry and Alice Cooper. And this tabloid whirlwind, most notably the unbecoming video of him smashing glass and ravenously pouring wine.

And his next theatrical release is Yoga Hosers.
