That's a Freudian Slip in your case

When unconscious feelings (such as sexual and aggressive tendencies) seep into our dreams, thoughts, and slips of the tongue.

You just had a rusty moment! It feels nice, eh?!

I've been saying that more and more among my friends. Every time I speak it I receieve odd glances and questions as to what it means.

Thanks a lot rusty. Thanks to you I'm an outcast

Touche.

At least I don't have homoerotic dreams about rusty every night.

Very good long-term. Somewhere in the Middle, but sort of lackluster short-term. Trying to improve both. Need improvement on the short.

I tend to remember things I am interested. I tend to easily forget things I am disinterested in once they are over. Go figure. lol. Who doesn't?

I also used to barely study for a test. I mean all through Elementary School and High School, I barely had to crack a book. I think I might have read only a handful of schoolbooks in all these years. This changed once college started.

I made it through all the College Math classes up to Calculus (Prob & Stats., College Algebra, Int. Algebra, and Cal. 1). If you were to even ask me for a formula off head from any of the classes, I couldn't even tell you anymore. But I do remember quite a bit of what I learned from Business Math because I use it in daily life.

Same as how many engineers would remember Calculus because they use it once it's over. Kind of unneeded for those with majors in Psychology, Acting, and Real Estate if you ask me.

P.S. Languages have to become a part of you life in order to be successful at them. To really learn a language you must have an interest in it. You have to make it a part of you. In other words, it can't suck or be boring. You can conjugate all the verbs in the world (it's an important thing, but not the only thing), but once you leave HS and never look back, you will forget everything you learned in no time.

95%+ of those who learned a language in Jr. High/High School will have forgotten it all in the US. Some other countries are better for learning languages because they are surrounded by those who are Bilingual, Trilingual, etc. So, it's easy to practice and use.

I have never known anyone who learned a foreign language out of High School in the US. People take 2, 3, and 4 years. But, ask them how to give directions and they are totally lost.

Best way to learn a language is obviously by speaking it and using it in your daily life.

True words. Very true.

By the way, by now I have learned texts worth of 1,680 words...just another 5,500 to go...

My memory is still really good. It depends on if I want to remember it or not. It is true, that it is the first thing to go. I'm not sure if that's because of accumulated information overload causing a memory malfunction now and again, or what, but I wouldn't say my memory is quite what it was 10 years ago. Not a significant difference, but I'll forget that I was supposed to do something, or forget that something is on TV on a certain day or time much faster than I would have back then. Some of it probably has to do with stress and responsibility, which can increase as you get older.

I just wanted to ask you how good your memory is...

Why did I make this thread? Well, mostly because right now, I feel so blessed with good memory as I have to learn texts worth of overall 7,000+ words for my upcoming State Exam BY HEART. Yeah, fun... I don't know what I'd do if my memory failed me.

Having just finished a 12 page narrative that I spelled checked and was about 2500 words.

How much is 7000 words - about 35 pages.

Anyway, I doubt that for this upcoming exam - everyone is expected or can memorize 7000 + words by heart.

And if this was true - if would be more than a good memory.

Also any exam like this is crazy, IMO.

I personally believe that all exams should be in essay form so that people have to think, comprehend and state their opinions which would show how well people understand the material.
