 Re: BvS (INTL)
The fact it's under MoS is really telling that not even Batman can help a broken movie. Hopefully this banishes Snyder from destroying more properties.

Those comparisons aren't very encouraging.

Good lord, and folks say the bias does not exist. Security is all over France; that's clearly the issue. Huge openings in Spain, Italy, and Hong kong and looking at a solid China start to boot.
But the OP ignores them of course.

But the OP ignores them of course. BvS did indeed have solid openings (but not huge) in Spain and Italy but I do not have any comparisons. And there are no China opening day numbers yet, just the previews and they don't look too impressive. And previews in Germany were solid as well - but it is very unlikely that the opening weekend reaches TDK or TDKR, hell even DEADPOOL's opening might be out of reach...

Yeah France is not a great place currently to look at its stats. It should be fine opening wise. It's the legs that will be problem

You have no idea what you're talking about. For the day of the week is opened, the numbers are huge. It is running near double MOS openings and will see a huge Chinese increase. 1B overseas is not out of the question yet.

You do realize that MOS did pretty badly in quiet a few markets? Since you predicted $5b WW for sure I thought the benchmark for comparisons would be TDK or TDKR..

 Re: BvS (INTL)
$7m Wednesday: Spain was the biggest opener with a 62% share of the Top 5 films and $1.8M. This is the best debut of 2016 in the market. France came in at $1.7M and 196K admissions on 822 screens, commanding 65% of the Top 5 films in the market. It is the 5th best start of the year. In Italy, the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel pulled in $1.1M on 768 screens, good for 66% of the Top 5 films and 87% ahead of Deadpool’s Thursday opening. Three Scandinavian plays all ranked No. 1 by a huge margin: Sweden pulled in $428K on 210 screens and is now the biggest March opening of all time; Norway marked the biggest opening of 2016 with $501K on 190 screens; and Finland was worth $120K on 120 screens. Despite the overall market being affected by this week’s tragic events and closures of several cinemas, Belgium opened to very good results with $191K on 150 screens. http://deadline.com/2016/03/batman-v-su ... 201725677/

 Re: BvS (INTL)
Even if it was great $1b OS would have been difficult with MoS reception and change of Batman.

Wednesday IMAX was about 85% full (which is generally sold out) whereas regular Thursday midnight shows were 90%-95% full, they kept on adding more midnight shows. This is the first time I have seen a 2AM shows for a movie.

Are we seriously discussing 1 billion OS? It'll need to fight for 1b WW first.
