Waiting on TDS's thoughts. I know he didn't like it.

I don't have much to say. It really reminded me of IRON MAN 2 (though I liked it a little better because it seems like the people in this movie were at least trying).

I've gotten myself so worked up over this I really think the only thing that can calm me down is to see it again.

I am being 100% honest. I can't, off the top of my head, remember more than 5 minutes of IM2. I know for a fact I'm going to remember the last, at least, 45 minutes of this. Plus the JL stuff.

The only thing I remember about IM2 is Mickey Rourke swinging whatever the hell that was.

IRON MAN 2 is terrible. It's an utter nothing of a movie that only has RDJ's charisma to fall back on.

Captain America: The First Avenger is the only Marvel movie I distinctly remember and revisit now and then. It is a wonderful superhero variation on the Indiana Jones vibe.

Judging from comments here and elsewhere on MCU movies or other movies, most of you guys seem to have really shitty memories.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
The only good Snyder movies are Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen, and I haven't watched or revisited either in years.
Sucker Punch is one of the worst movies of the past 20 years.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Do you think Snyder should've stepped away after Man of Steel? I haven't seen this yet but do you think if someone else came on it would've worked better? Is he at fault? Much like Joss shouldn't have returned to The Avengers?
By the way, I'm still excited to see this. All the hate makes me sad. I just want ALL comic book movies to be good.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I'm a fan of Snyder and most of the time the film is well done. From a financial standpoint yeah, Snyder shouldn't have come back. I'm glad WB didn't force reshoots as I don't think that would've helped the movie. If someone else directed this same exact movie, or something similar, would it have had these terrible reviews? Who knows...
If Suicide Squad is an absolute critical hit I think the direction for the universe will change.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
It sounds like they have a great cast and great approach from a story telling perspective, and just like MOS, the execution just isn't there.
Man of Steel worked great on a scene by scene basis. It was just when the scenes were taken as a whole, the flow and tone was very awkward and uneven. Very curious to hear if that's the case again.
Because...the story in the leaked plot is aces, and the cast is great. So, seriously...what the fuck is so difficult?

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I don't think it is unfair to say that all Marvel films, if held to the same standard as DC films, will come up short.
Can someone name one real theme of any Marvel film? Even the highly touted ones like IM1 or CA2 or TA are filled with holes and ridiculous things. They get pass because they make no effort to be anything more.
I mean. What the fuck. Hulk black widow was the worst superhero romance ever. Ultron still managed what Rt score?
The anti dc/Snyder bias is real even if it is only partially justified

The anti dc/Snyder bias is real even if it is only partially justified The Marvel films have likable characters. The DC films, so far, don't. That's the difference. People are more lenient when they actually like and are invested in the characters in the film.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
It seems pretty clear this isn't the standard sub 40% RT film. There are too many raving reactions from normal people and a bunch of top tier critics seemed to really enjoy it.
Before I call doom for it's legs, I'll have to see it. Cjohn over at BOF is legit and this is his review:
9.5/10
The only thing I didn't like was the stupid Cyborg cameo warning Bruce Wayne. "Is it time yet??? Did I come too soon??" C'mon man. I am also pretty sure the dream sequences were made by other hero/villain and not some random event.
EDIT: Apparently it was The Flash and not Cyborg?!?!? Lol, well, it was very hard to understand and the suit was incredibly weird. Fuck that scene.
Otherwise it was legit awesome. The story is actually very simple and easy to follow. Ben Affleck was great. Gal Gadot has the best entrance ever for a super-hero. Troll Luthor breathes life into this movie. He is very, very good. The battle between the leads is quite cool. The final moments of Superman are the stuff of legends. I cried. Fantastic. Perfect moment.
Also liked the Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman cameos in the Luthor files. Aquaman looks like fucking Roman Reigns lmao. The Chris Pine cameo was kinda funny, since it was just a picture lol.
The crowd seemed into it a lot. Cheers and applauses when Batman gave Superman and the first punch and when Wonder Woman showed up. Laughs at the right moments as well (Troll Luthor gets a few, and there is a legit hilarious moment involving Batman and Martha Kent that got the biggest laughs from the audience). And when I cried, there were a few people crying as well. Brutal dead silence in that scene. It gave me chills.
This movie was what my dreams were all about. I loved it and can't wait to see it again.
Critics can suck my dick for all I care.

Just an FYI - "random people" are all 99% of reviewers are to 99.999% of movie goers.
