Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
Looks like season 7 and 8 are happening. I don't think you can go much further without killing off the main cast, which is certainly possible. Eventually Dinklage, Lena, Nic, Emilia and Kit will all want $1M per episode and the show is already expensive enough.
With that in mind, I'm gonna predict Jaime gets iced this year.

I wonder if Benoiff & Weiss had anything to do with GRRM delaying the book because of how they deviated from the last few books. George mentioned he had to rewrite parts of the book

If he's redoing the book to suit the show then just LOL.

Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
Who do you think will definitely still be alive, when the final season begins (by its end everyone is fair game, IMO)?
I'm thinking Sansa, Arya, Dany, Tyrion, Bran and Jon are the only ones that are truly safe until then.
And speaking of salaries - how long until Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln start demanding $1 million per episode of TWD?

I highly doubt Margery will die.

Bronn is the only character guaranteed to be alive at the end. I have an image of he and Tyrion slowly walking away from a battlefield of dead zombies and dragons, looking only for wine and a whore. Since the shownis basically fanfiction now, my dream is somewhat likely.

They made two seaso s from book 3. They should have based season 5,6 and 7 each on the first second and final thirds of books 4 and 5 instead of cramming everything into one season.

Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
yeah that would have been awful. Dorne was pretty boring and I wouldn't want two seasons of that. They are putting some of 4 and 5 into this season though (Oldtown and the Greyjoy stuff).

There was two seasons worth of story in A STORM OF SWORDS. There was one season worth of story in the whole of A FEAST FOR CROWS and A DANCE WITH DRAGONS.

Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
TDS is right on. The second half of Swords is insane and deserves its own season. That stretch is why the series is as popular as it is.

The trailer was very well put together. The best part was the last line of the trailer seeming to come directly from the producers/GRM. "Sorry you have to watch this."

I like the trailer but why do they always have to go with inferior cover songs rather than using the original. This is the third time they have done so

I might be in minority but I really disliked Season 5 and Season 4 was only good for last few episodes.

Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
I wonder if this will beat the ratings of Season 5. Mother's Mercy had the highest viewership for the series to date, despite the season not being as beloved as previous seasons. so maybe its just fans that were upset with it.

2nd trailer was amazing. Re-read Game of Thrones and and Re-reading a Clash of Kings now.

I've been reading A Clash of Kings for 6 months and I'm only halfway through. These books take forever to read.

Hype is through the roof. Everyone is excited and talking about it. I hope it crosses 10 million viewers for the premiere.

Re: "Game of Thrones" Season 6
I would be surprised if the premiere viewer surpasses last years viewership considering general ratings for cable tv has gone the past year and GOT is on its 6th season. Most likely it will either be the same number or go down about 0.4 margin

I'm more interested to see if Martin pussies out and follows the series from now on. God only knows Winds should've been out years ago.

I'm pretty sure he'll take the parts that people like and leave out the ones that people don't. That way he can always say his is the best version.

Is there any real reason why he hasn't released the books by now other than he is a lazy fuck?
