Emily Blunt's nomination is far more of an LOL than Daisy's win.

My favorite wins tonight: Michael Fassbender for best actor and The Gift for most overlooked film. The latter truly came as a pleasant surprise.

Amy won. Mad Max: Fury Road got a lot of wins, though probably not because of Theron (otherwise she'd have won Actress).
No blacks.
No Mexicans.
Pretty much all white males again, though Inside Out is about a teenage GIRL, so... Oscar Isaac is Guatemalan. Hah. Nice list of winners though. Happy for Mad Max, Inside Out, Oscar Isaac, and Michael Fassbender.

Good show! Also wanted to give a shout out to my top overlooked movie of the year, The Intern. Really understated movie!
Happy to see Mad Max's strong support! Though VERY DISAPPOINTED about the Lava song.

Mad Max winning Costume Design. Inside Out, Fassbender, Ex Machina getting 2 acting awards and The Gift getting overlooked are all great.

Mad Max's costume-design seems justified to me. There is an insane amount of detail conveyed via the costuming, and Immortan Joe is one of the most visually striking antagonists in ages.

Re: 12th WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - All winners announced!
A lot of the winners came down to that at least everyone had seen Mad Max and for the other films they just divvied up the remaining awards. With the winners not being too undesirable, and the nominations we had, were better than at the Oscars anyway. Also glad with the Gift getting a mention.

Re: 12th WOKJ Motion Picture Awards - All winners announced!
Why are you so happy that The Gift got Most Overlooked? We overlooked it. It wasn't good enough to get a real award, so it gets a consolation prize (e.g. the it's-not-the-winning-it's-the-taking-part award).

Algren wrote: a consolation prize It depends on the perspective. It was already not nominated, and for it then still make the conversation together with other winners is an achievement for me. Also because of this award it should in time, be viewed by more members of the forum than if it wasn't.

Is it still an achievement if it only made the conversation because David campaigned for it?

The people bemoaning "Lava" not winning the Song category... I am out of touch with the masses apparently. That song is one of the worst things ever.

Lava was trash. I remember that short before Inside Out and I couldn't wait for the thing to end.
