Byung-hun Lee will be the first Korean ever to present, I read.

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
Quote: Producers Reginald Hudlin and David Hill also announced a big change for the show on Feb. 28. Winners will still have a tight 45 seconds for their acceptance speeches, but now, thanks to a scroll of key names that will appear on the screen, the speech doesn't just have to be a list of people.
This development, they hope, will give winners an opportunity to say what's in their heart, rather than worrying about forgetting to thank an agent, producer or director. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wir ... s-36795150Winners will probably still thank their agents during their speech.

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
That's a good idea. Just give a list of names for them to show on screen and say a few normal words for once. Just hope they don't fuck up and show other people's list.

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
Not sure it's a good idea. Actors in particular aren't exactly wordsmiths. They are used to having everything written down for them.

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
I don't know, I think the point of thanking people is the personal touch of them saying it

Am I misunderstanding this, or does this actually mean there will be a scroll of names on the bottom of the screen while the winner is talking, like it's a telethon or something? If so, what the hell? This is the dumbest idea ever and will be so awkward to watch. Just let the winners talk, for goodness sake! Peace, Mike

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
I get that they're hoping it'll allow for less canned and boring speeches but I doubt it'll work. There's a world of difference between mentioning your agent on stage and having it scroll across the bottom of the screen. It's a storied Hollywood tradition to mention your behind the scenes handlers, it's expected.

 Re: Oscar Ceremony News
Vergara should be an awkward watch. And lol at Common. I don't care if he's an Oscar winner.
