Does Dion's husband fill the rule of three quota, or will I wake up to another nasty shock tomorrow?

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
WTF? This is just total disbelief. He always seemed a little younger than he actually was, because he was an established actor when I was introduced to him in Die Hard.
This really sucks, because he still had another good decade or more of interesting roles.
I am wallowing in denial for a few more hours.

No, this is it. Lemmy, Bowie, and Rickman. We are done until Thanksgiving, it is not up for debate.

Lemmy, Bowie, and Rickman are the three.
And lol. Arnold ain't dying for years. And he is 68, not 69. Born in 1947, July 30th. Stallone is 69, though.

If Stallone were to die tomorrow, he'd be an absolute lock for win Best Supporting Actor.

I thought Scott Weiland, Lemmy, and Bowie were a death-comes-in-threes trio.

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
I disagree, though he is the least respected among the three in regard to critics. But Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver surely sold far, far more records than Motörhead, and Weiland was a major MTV face/presence in the '90s and early '00s.

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
He's no Rickman or Lemmy in terms of name recognition/popularity. The Internet was rather quiet about his death. The same couldn't be said for Lemmy and Rickman (especially Rickman). You're just a big fan of Weiland so you're not seeing it clearly.

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
At the end of the day, of course, David Bowie is far and away the most significant. This sounds so disrespectful, but he even leaves Lemmy and Alan Rickman in the dust. His death from a closely guarded cancer feels almost John Lennon-level to me.

Oh of course. Bowie's death is huge. It's the MJ, the Lennon, the Elvis of recent years.

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
Come on. Lennon was murdered, Elvis died taking a shit, MJ Overdosed amongst a huge sold out worldwide tour. Bowie at least died of natural causes, he was suffering for almost 2 years. While his music is certainly on par legend status. But all of them could still be alive too.
Though the loss of Craven, Bowie, Rickman and Willams as a whole is pretty crippling. I mean we're at the point of losing Nicholson, freeman, Eastwood, Connery, Ford, and Hackman. It's only gonna get worse.has anyone heard Bowie's last album?

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
I just watched A Little Chaos last week, I believe, and was pleasantly surprised by it.
Sad news, and he still had much talent to share.

Freeman and Ford? I think they'll be around for a lot more years yet.

When Spielberg (also 69) dies, the entire world is going to be crippled with grief. Bank holidays for everyone.

Re: Alan Rickman Dies at 69
Don't think people will care much when Spielberg dies. He is a very well known director, but he's still just a director. It's the same as when Walt Disney died. Nobody really cared. Hitchcock is another one. Loved, but nobody really cared that much. Not as much as the stars like Monroe, Dean, Presley, Sinatra etc. Stars will always be more of a front-page story than behind-the-scenes craftsman no matter how famous they are.

I think people cared when Hitchcock died. Nobody seemed to care because he appeared to be ill in his last several interviews. Puffy and occasionally forgetful. And we were aware of his age. Like when I worked at Warner/Reprise demo dept. The day Elvis died, nobody cared because they were familiar with his drug issues.
