 Hulk
Hulk Quote: Hulk (also known as The Hulk in some countries) is a 2003 American superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character of the same name. Ang Lee directed the film, which stars Eric Bana as Dr. Bruce Banner, as well as Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott, Nick Nolte, and Josh Lucas. The film explores the origins of the Hulk, which is partially attributed to Banner's father's experiments on himself, and on his son.
Development for the film started as far back as 1990. The film was at one point to be directed by Joe Johnston and then Jonathan Hensleigh. More scripts had been written by Hensleigh, John Turman, Michael France, Zak Penn, J. J. Abrams, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, Michael Tolkin, and David Hayter before Ang Lee and James Schamus' involvement. Hulk was shot mostly in California, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. The film was released with mixed reviews and grossed over $245 million worldwide. Marvel Studios rebooted it in 2008 with The Incredible Hulk. Seriously, this movie is so underrated. I don't understand all the hate. I liked it. B

I don't even want to read this thread after I post. Hulk was a great movie that wasn't for everyone. Could have used more humor to be more entertaining for those who weren't fans.

Well considering you gave A+'s to SGG and to Simone and some other chick flicks lately, I am kinda relieved

No. Did you get tired of looking for a new video store to rent movies at, since you're too ashamed to rent another batch of chick flicks at the same place?

I staked out the place and know the shifts that they work, so I still have 2 more trips that I can make without having to deal with the same clerk twice.

I thought The HULK was damn good and quite faithful to the comic, but as much as folks don't want to believe this(and they won't) I still say the older audience for this were expecting Lou Ferrigno to be the HULK and not some CGI Creation.. This is based on every adult I showed this to before it came out.. Ferrigno and Bill Bixby were quite well known when this was on TV on friday nights and that's what the older folks related to.. It is unfortunate it didn't do better and I ate some serious crow and shit crow over my prediction for some time after that, but what can I say?? I blew it.. This is why I think BATMAN BEGINS will follow in suit with this movie in terms of it's Dark, Gloomy and depressing feel to it that might be great for the hardcore Batfans, but not for the casual moviegoer.. We shall see..

Needs more action sequences and humor. I will see the sequel if it is made as this one wasn't awful, just mediocre.

I liked it very much and think its a very fine movie. I guess a lot of people were dissapointed cause it was not a "fun" movie like Spiderman. I wished the action would have been a bit different. The makers read the comic and saw that its serious and they made it serious. Very good.
Hulk was \:D/ I want a second one.

Best comic book based movie ever.
And if you disagree with my opinion, you have no real taste in movies.

Awful, just plain awful. I hated everything about it from the style to the awful hulk. D.

Not too bad, its probably not the best comic book out there but it did satisfy the few things that the Hulk is supposed to be about. My only big complaint was changing Bruce Banner's dad into a villian instead of going with a real comic book villian

It's a decent movie and a nice approach to Hulk's character. I liked the character development and didn't find the movie boring despite it being over 130 minutes long. The CGI could have been tweaked in some places, but it is still really good. Hulk vs. the Army is great. Bana and Connelly are both good in their respective roles. Unfortunately, Nick Nolte overacts big time. The movie still stands as Marvel's third-weakest effort to date (after Elektra and Blade: Trinity). It was all good, until the final 15-20 minutes. The villain is just horrible, you can barely see anything in their final fight. The idea of making the father the villain was a bad one and Nolte's overacting didn't help. I also was annoyed by split screens, but that's just a minor complaint.

While I admit to being tired when I first watched this, I can't remember hardly anything good about it.
I would give it a D based on how I felt leaving the theatre.
I'll rewatch it, eventually...

 Re: Hulk
It tries its best to be both a 'serious' superhero film, while also attempting to visually resemble a comic book, and I don't think it reconciles the two very well. The split screens and flashy editing is fine, but when mixed with the emotionally charged story that it tells, it doesn't really work. Bana and Connelly are both good, but you can tell that they're better than this. The effects are good, not great, and the Hulk itself isn't realistic enough to make the serious story work. The end fight is just ridiculous, as well. An amibitious project, but ultimately a failed attempt.
